I think one of the first reminders I ever read was that one about Sora’s parents forgetting about him in CoM but still having a boy’s bedroom upstairs & not knowing why. It’s at least one of the earliest I can remember & it still gets me sometimes. 

I remember breaking out in a good sweat my very first run of the Pokemon Emerald Elite 4. Then dying inside when I realized I had to fight a Champion afterwards. I can’t remember if I actually cried, but I did cry when I first beat Mystery Dungeon on Gameboy (& then muscle memory freaked out & I didn’t save so I had to do the entire thing again). Ah, childhood memories.

Never bled though.

Part of it I think has to do with the story not being totally finalized, especially not the…convoluted mess we have today, at the time of Kingdom Hearts release. A young Ienzo could’ve been the plan from the start, or Nobodies could’ve been a sudden addition to add more antagonists, I’d have to look up which is more true though. If anyone has access to concept art or the like, we’d love to see it!

I think it could be a dramatic element or maybe say something about the effect of scientific curiosity on impressionable children when you take the personal connection out of the equation (it’s easy to forget that Heartless and Nobodies were people), or maybe Ienzo was manipulated into urging the experiments forward by Xehanort! 

I personally hope this is something they address but if not, I’ll keep it on the list I’m going to make in December of “Things that probably weren’t thought out well in Kingdom Hearts” (title not finalized). 

It’s going to be a fun December. 

When Riku removes the blindfold between CoM and the end of KH2 he “transforms” back into Ansem Seeker of Darkness, complete with that Guardian from the Destiny Island fight. The blindfold isn’t explained much except for Mickey saying that Riku couldn’t lie with his eyes (the line in the English version might be “his eyes couldn’t lie” or something similar). 

Dragon might be able to answer this better but if that older Xehanort we saw is the current Xehanort (I can’t remember if it was or not rn) it could be because that’s how he remembers himself, he forgot everything as Terranort remember? I think the other Nobodies that reformed came back as they last remembered themselves, ie; in Ansem’s lab sprawled out on the floor. With notable Norted exceptions of course.

But that’s just a theory and if anyone has any official information about this please share, it be a real help.

Don’t be! I reblogged those alt eye color edits not only because of how cute they looked but also because alt eye colors for the blue sea that is KH gives this admin life. Does anyone have links to other similar edits?

As the one who queued the post, I know it was queued ages before this revelation made it to KH Insider, the article being here (dated January 29th), and pretty much all the stuff this mod (Sylph) knows about Chi is based on trying to scrounge information from fan translations so forgive any mistakes please.

As for it being a prequel or not, I’d say give it a little while and we’ll learn either way.
