You stood outside of FNC’s studio, waiting for your manager to meet you before entering. Your company arranged a collaboration with a member from FNC’s rookie boy group, SF9. You were a little worried about the language barrier, although you had studied the Korean language in college.
“Y/N, are you ready?” your manager, Claire, asked when she finally arrived, jolting you out of your thoughts.
“Yep, let’s do this!” you confidently stated as the two of you walked into the building. The receptionist at the front desk didn't even ask for a name before guiding you towards a room at the end of a corridor. Nervously, you exchanged a glance with Claire before knocking on the door.
After a couple of moments, the door was opened by an extremely handsome young man, his lanky body towering over you. You recognized him as a member of SF9, and wondered if he would be the one you would work with. You certainly wouldn't mind looking at that face for hours.  “Hello! I’m Rowoon, please come in,” the man kindly stated in Korean, handing you a bottle of water and steering you to a long table. Seated there was another SF9 member, this one with blue hair and a kind smile, and an older man in his forties, who you assumed was the CEO.
They both stood up to greet you. The older man bowed and shook your hand. “Good morning, Y/N. I’m truly honored to have my company work with you. I am the CEO, Han Seong-ho. Please contact me if you need anything at all.”
“The pleasure is mine Mr. Han,” you stuttered, hoping your Korean wasn't too bad. “I hope we can create an amazing song that many from across the world will enjoy.” He smiled at this and introduced you to the second SF9 member.
“This here is Taeyang, he is one of SF9’s main vocalist and main dancer. He is the member you shall be working with. I'm counting on you two to not let me down.”
Taeyang’s eyes shined as he greeted you in English, “Hello! I am very, very happy to sing with you!”
You laughed and replied, “Fighting!”
Taeyang led you towards the recording studio, where you would both brainstorm ideas for the song. The two of you were completely in charge of the song and were given the freedom to do anything you wanted, including creating the choreography.
The studio was small, but was equipped with everything needed to put this piece together, including a wall lined with an assortment of instruments.
“So..” Taeyang awkwardly said as he plopped onto the sofa. “What kind of song do you want to create?”
“Well, I was thinking an acoustic song, but we can’t exactly put a choreography to that,” you thought outloud.
“No one said we needed to dance,” he grinned. “I can play the guitar and you can be on the piano. I think our voices will match well with an acoustic song.”
Excited, you took a seat beside him with a pencil and your notebook filled with blank sheet music. He grabbed the a guitar from the instrument wall, and started playing with the strings, trying to come up with a potential melody. The two of you worked for hours, not realizing lunch had come and gone. You were too focused on the music, the flow of the notes and the way it made both of you immediately feel comfortable next to one another.
But the music couldn’t distract you from the hunger gnawing on the inside of your stomachs. The two of you soon realized the time and quickly said goodbye, making plans to meet the next morning to work on the song again.
After three days, Taeyang and you had completed the song. It was a fun acoustic tune that was structured to imitate a conversation between two lovers. Taeyang had suggested the idea and you fell in love with it after discussing it for a while.
You realized that although Taeyang came off as shy and awkward at first, when discussing music he became a completely different person. He was confident and spoke with a pleasant attitude. You'd also been faced with a gorgeous profile view of his jawline, distracting you slightly at times. Not to mention his beautiful smile every time progress was made in the song. or the way he talked about the music, with happiness and glee.
You weren't the only one slowly becoming attracted to the other. Taeyang also noticed your deep passion about composing and how you were always willing to compromise with him. He loved the way you’d put your hair behind your ear or laugh at his terrible jokes. You made him feel normal, someone who was just living their life without having fans or paparazzi everywhere.
The two of you gathered SF9 and the CEO to see what their thoughts on the song were. You actually felt nervous, you were performing for people who probably were not your fans and would be judging you hard. You also didn't want to let Taeyang down, knowing this was his first solo task.
Taeyang saw your uneasy expression and quickly excused the two of you before the start of the performance. He dragged you outside, took a deep breath, and confessed from the heart.
“Y/N, these past few days have been amazing. You're an easy and agreeable person to work with, which is hard to come by nowadays. I felt like a regular 19 year old again, one who didn't have any worries and simply did what he loved without the pressures of the world. I want to thank you for that. And no matter how the people in that room respond to our song, I want you to know that it's perfect to me, just the way it is.”
You smiled at him, thankful for his kind words. You didn't expect him to say something this sweet. At a loss for words, you suddenly gave him a hug, channeling all your feelings into into that one movement. He hugged back, and when you pulled away, he gave you a soft peck on the cheek along with a teasing wink. Laughing, the two of you headed back to the room, ready to show off what would become one of your greatest hits yet.
