your life almost ended right then and there

but one time your friend describes how they feel about their boyfriend, and you realize something is wrong because

when you break up with jinyoung, he’s surprisingly okay with it

you found out later this is because he had developed a crush on an older transfer student from china

he throws one every year, reserving his family hotel’s conference center rich bitch

it tends to get a little wild

girls tend to wear a little less, guys tend to flirt a little more

nearly half the school attends, and everyone goes all out with the costumes

your costume? a cute lil minion

smh i wanna go to a halloween party

you’re wading through the crowd when you trip on someone’s foot and topple forward, reaching out and grabbing someone to keep from falling

that person happens to be one ha sungwoon, who’s dressed as a vampire if you even knew lmao

you’re a bit buzzed yeah ok “buzzed” so instead of apologizing like you would normally, the first thing out of your mouth is “your costume is great!! so convincing!!”

he smiles a toothy grin literally

“are you okay??” he asks, probably because you’re swaying

“are you okay??” you ask, only because his face is suddenly scrunched up

you flash a smile and he shies away

confused, you lean forward

“seriously are you okay?? you look like you’re in pain”

“its- it’s nothing- i just-”

for a moment, this weird look comes over his face, and then he’s back to normal

you squint confused, but accept his not-so-explanation

the next morning, you wake up with a headache, an aching neck, and the feeling that you’re forgetting something

the headache is from the alcohol

the aching neck? there are these two odd little cuts that explain that, although they shouldn’t be hurting as much as they do

and the feeling of forgetting something? well you can’t figure that out

for the next day and a half, you can’t shake the feeling that you’re forgetting something, but - obviously - you can’t remember what

you spend ages thinking hard about the party, but there seems to be a hole in your memory

you assume it’s due to the alcohol, but since when did alcohol only make you forget one specific chunk of time??

unsettled, you push it out of your mind and completely foget about it until

ha sungwoon!! walks into your morning class two days after the party

and the unexplained little cuts on your neck start burning

and suddenly fragments of your memory start returning, like puzzle pieces

and the longer you stare, the more you recall

by the end of class, you remember everything

and when the bell rings, you can’t even stand up in shock that

just when he’s about to say something back, he collapses in your arms

and after panicking for a minute, you end up dragging him to the nearby infirmary

when he finally wakes up, you’re prepared to scold him, but then decide not to after all

“what happened?? are you sleep deprived?” and then it dawns on you “oh wait,,, you haven’t slept in like 4 centuries,,,”

he giggles “i can sleep!! i just don’t need to,”

“i knew that” you nod “but seriously - what happened?? one minute you were fine and the next i’m dragging your unconscious body down a hallway”

he lets out a small sigh, sitting up in the infirmary bed

“i don’t know… i think i’m malnourished,,”

“but i just saw you eat a– oH,,, like,,, you need blood?”

he nods solomnly and after a moment of silence, an idea pops into your head

but one day, you reach the topic of memory wiping

and you find out there’s no way you should be able to remember what happened that night

well, you have a teensy secret

and that is that your grandma knows about vampires

you didn’t believe what you thought were her crazy ramblings, until now

one day when she’s knitting on her front porch, you approach

“well hypothetically, if they were real, would they be able to wipe humans’ memories??” “of course!! a human should never dabble in the affairs of the supernatural, since they could wipe any and every memory you have”

you spent most classes staring at him and then pretending you hadn’t been

but your friends caught on, of course,, they wanted to throw a ‘welcome to the Kang Daniel fan club’ party, but you adamantly refused

they settled for “subtly” teasing you about your crush (hint they weren’t subtle at all,, it’s a miracle he never caught on)

and although you’re kind of preoccupied with the pain, a little part of you thinks he’s kind of cute

when you get to the hospital, he’s all ready to demand your care, but he doesn’t get a chance - thank GOD, because although you’re in labor, you still can feel embarrassment!!

you know he can get a bit queasy, but he refused to leave your side through the whole ordeal

even when you almost break his hand because you’re squeezing it so hard

and when you come to for the last time, the nurse is placing the baby on your stomach

and however much you love going out, you love staying in just a bit more

especially not nights like tonight, when the sky’s stormy and the temperature’s low

you two had planned to go on a double date, but the look you exchange says neither of you want to go

he shoots you a small grin, one you return

“should we cancel?”

“ooo let’s say you got a debilitating 24-hour sickness,”

“good one~ should we call?”

“no, text them - i’m bad at lying over the phone,”

it doesn’t matter if you’re snekes though, because you’ll be snekes together

you spend a good ten minutes debating over a movie to watch

apparently magic mike isn’t an acceptable movie for a couple’s night in

you disagree but wHATEVER

so you watch pitch perfect instead

you have to pause the movie at the puke scene, bc you almost puke yourself

jihoon isn’t any help, laughing as you hold a hand over your mouth

but then he distracts you by placing a long, slow kiss on your lips

cue the blushing

“ok um- let’s watch the m-movie now” 

just because you’ve been together for a while doesn’t mean you don’t get flustered when he pulls smooth shit

when you run out of popcorn mid-way through, you play rock paper scissors to see who has to go make more

let’s just say jihoon is terrible at rock paper scissors

you distracted the king of aegyo with your own aegyo

he’s trash for your aegyo

after the movie is over, both of you are too lazy to get up, so you spend half an hour just cuddling and talking

about the movie mostly

“jesse is my ultimate movie crush”

“excuse me”

“benji’s pretty cute too, to be honest”

jihoon may be the visual god™ but you never fail to make him insecure

in your defense, you only do it because needy jihoon is literally the most adorable thing

when it gets too warm to cuddle, you migrate to the kitchen to graze on various snacks and cool down

“you know if you eat dairy before bed you’ll have wild dreams,”

“i’d better eat some ice cream then and hope you’ll visit me in my dreams ;)”

watching him pretend not to be flustered is everything

eventually, he has to forcibly remove the snacks from you and you decide that’s probably your cue to go to bed

so you snuggle up in the bed you two share and end up cuddling again

you haven’t said “i love you” yet, but you both know it’s the unspoken meaning

so you proceed to drift off to dreamland, unable to wipe the smile off your face and jihoon’s arms curled your waist
