Here is the DAY performance. Iāve started the script for NIGHT but donāt expect it too soon, though I hope to finish less than 98 days this time. For people new to Ad-Live, DAY and NIGHT shows are completely different contents, storylines and characters. Both follow the same theme - secrets. Actors on stage follow a general storyline but the exact process is not in script. The 2 main actors, in this case Toriumi and Nakamura, pick out random lines from a bag and try to ad-lib their way through. Depending on those lines, different scenarios may come about.Ā
Iāve always found some ad-live shows kinda cringy...(guilty confession: I didnāt manage to finish watching ad-live 2016) but this yearās theme was way better than last yearās imo. There are still some very cringy moments, but they are also supported by miraculous moments where they picked just the right lines at the right moments.Ā
I really wanted to share some of the details behind the production especially on the scenarios that were planned out vs what ended up happening; Also wanted to share the details the two of them were shown from the previous preview video. That being said, PLEASE DO NOT READ ON IF YOU DONāT WANT TO SPOILED ON THE DAY PERFORMANCE.

This is linked to the preview video in the previous post. I actually watched the preview video after watching the full performance and I still wasnāt sure what were the details they were actually reacting to lol. So, to clear things up:
Toriumi Kousukeās (TK) character - Haruki Osamu
Nakamura Yuuichiās (NY) character - Tanaka Hajime
1. The relationship between the two - Co-workers & friends
2. The actions towards the end - Closing the door/portal to the closet
3. Secrets: TK - Aiming to be a novelist | NY -Ā He is a soon-to-be-king from another world
TK - He is writing a novel; though not a well-known one, he has won some small awards. However, besides his editor Kato, not many others pay attention to him. In addition, his health is waning, with an illness in his heart where a sudden death wonāt be completely unexpected. Despite knowing that he might die today, he continues to have his pen with him, and went for his job as a mover. He has a younger sister Yume who understands his situation. She respects his intention to live on normally until the end and watches over him. He did not mention his novelist aspirations or his health issues to Tanaka.Ā
NY - 15 years ago, he came from another worldĀ āIsebetsukaā asĀ āJupiterā (idk if itās just a name, or a reference to the Jupiter god). He decided to call himself Tanaka Hajime, he is a prince, and is fated to eventually become king. He is supposed to be studying abroad, expanding his knowledge and bring a wife back to his homeland. However, he loved this current world so much that even after the originally planned 5 years, he did not return to his homeland, and instead escaped his attendant. And so he has been around 15 years. In that time, he met Haruki Osamu, for some reason got along with him, and became good friends with him. Haruki has a sister, Yume and Tanaka is dating her. Though he knew he has to return some time, he was reluctant to bring Yume back as his wife knowing it would separate her from her brother.

Since there are other actors, music, sound and lighting effects going on, some details were planned out or at least a general idea was set in stone. I read through the booklet and it was interesting to find what was the plan and how things changed on stage. Especially interesting to note is that they had planned out TWO ending scenarios...and depending on the lines that were picked out, some things changed~ It should be noted that most of the planned scenarios are meant as a guide for the other side actors rather than the main cast, with some changes here and there. How Toriumi and Nakamura played out on stage...are really quite improvised xD TheĀ ārobotā aspect was certainly not in the script xD Only writing down the notable differences here:
Early scenes where there is a voice telling Tanaka toĀ āchooseā, though Sebashi was not in the room when the voices happened, he was scripted to pretend not being able to hear the voice, but actually could
(Tanaka throwing something at Kato was NOT in the script xD)
When Yume first appeared, I donāt think she was supposed to be eating cake...? xD
However, she hating peppers is indeed part of the story.
Kato was originally planned to join them towards the end because he was worried about the sky darkening, but Tanakaās actions gave him a different reason~
At the end, there was allowance for different scenarios to play out. Possible endings: Haruki dies, Tanaka becomes king with Sebastian saving Haruki, Yume becoming upset etcĀ
In the event that Tanaka decides to go back and be king: Tanaka leaves with Yume, Sebastian saves Haruki, Haruki finishes his novel and receives an award.Ā
In the event that Tanaka decides not to be king: Sebastian just feels disappointed, goes into the portal, says that once the door to the portal closes, a new king will probably be born. Tanaka will live his life out in the current world, but Haruki will not be saved. At the conclusion, Haruki still receives the same award but it will be a posthumous one.
