@adifferentpxthâ and i plotted.
Wanda sat in the small room outside Professor Xavierâs office, sometimes he had students in here for lessons or tea. She could hear her father and the Professor talking in the next room but they had both warned her that they would know if she tried to read their minds to follow the conversation. Wanda was rarely the Maximoff child that was found in this room, it was normally Pietro. She had lost her temper, another one of the children had been saying hurtful things and sheâd snapped. The child was still in the medical room complaining of horrible memories. She stared at her feet instead, waiting for her father to come out.

This is not what Charles needed right now. Yes, he knew he couldnât control what other people did-- well, he did, but he did not often like to tap into that âskillâ of his-- but he at least wished somebody, what more Erik, would show him some ounce of support; or at least show that he wasnât completely alone. Guess not. Charles was, once again, completely and utterly alone. âDonât you think I know that by now?â he shivered, pinching the bridge of his nose as if trying to dispel a headache. âLook, I didnât wish for any of this to happen! You should know by now, Erik, that I would never, ever ask for any of this. I just-... I donât know what to do. I donât know how to fix this.â A beat. âI want to fix this. Make things right,â his blue eyes filled with pity and helplessness now. âPlease, Erik, I canât do this alone. I-... I donât know how...â

Crickets were the first thing to be heard that night, the only signs of city-life, minus a pedestrian or two. She was walking aimlessly, not necessarily sure where sheâd find herself, just somewhere on the brain. The larger alleyway narrows down the path, leading to a dead-end with either left or right to go. Frankly, she wouldnât have cared until the sound of voices trailed behind her in the distance.Â
Echoing loudly, the voices of two drunk imbeciles entered the alleyway, maybe sixty feet behind. It didnât take a mind reader to know that any gentlemanly intention was fogged for the night if it was brought in the first place.Â
âHey, sweetheart!â One calls as the blonde walks faster, going to take a right when the alley opens up, leading down a flight of stairs.
There were plenty of options, per say, as to have these morons off her back. An intoxicated mind is far less troublesome to manipulate than say someone sober. She couldâve entered another stranger into the picture, the sihlouette of someone far taller and meaner than the two. Or, she could let loose some dog who most definitely has some sort of rabies. That shuts them up, real quick. All of these were relatively fine ideas to lose a tail, but frankly, she just didnât have the energy to play pretend today.
So, when the men caught up to the corner she turned they were met with...nothing. Unbeknownst to any passerby, however, as they indeed see a woman declining a flight of stares, but to those sheâs hiding from, it was as if she never existed.
âDude, what the fuck-where did she--â One huffed in frustration as they continued this game of cat and mouse. One gestured back as if to go around the other way, see if she somehow found a shortcut.Â
Eloiseâs pace quickened, continuing down the promenade with no direction, a bit of a steady heartbeat residing in her chest. She took a breath. making aimless turns to find the main road again, but is met by tweedle dee and tweedle dum themselves as they practically corner her.
âListen, boys, Iâm frankly not in the mood tonight.â She tried to speak with as much certainty as she can muster. âIâve already called the cops.â As if on cue, a siren blares in the distance, however, her focus falters, encompassed by fear as one hears it far closer than needed and the other sounding like it blared in slow motion.Â
Not again.
She pulls up her hand in a last resort, showing what the naked eye would see as just an empty fist, but what she was trying to display to her feeble-minded attackers was a knife. âJust walk away.â

âOh.â Wanda commented in surprise when her father wrapped his arms around her. Neither of them were the most affectionate people so it was a bit of a surprise for her father to be holding her so tightly all of a sudden. She put her arms around her father in response and smiled. âYou alright, papa?â She asked.Â

 ALEX leaned against the table, hip on the e d g e, and folded his arms as he looked down at the older man.
  â Long time no see, Mags â He quirked an eyebrow, respectful enough not to call the other by their real name but colloquial enough to turn his codename into a NICKNAME.
