Thought I've had about Phineas' friendship with Buford
Buford used to think that Phineas was too much of a pushover snd decided to just annoy him on purpose to test his limits, which is kinda weird to do to a person but it's Buford. So naturally Phineas reaches a breaking point and lashes out at him and screams at his face and has a bit of a meltdown. And Buford doesn't see this coming at all and he's actually a impressed the little guy had any ounce of rage inside of him. But he's even more surprised when he sees Phineas with a guilty look on his face before running away. And Buford finds him hiding looking humiliated and ashamed.
So Buford sits with him and Phineas sees him and he apologizes and explains he wasn't supposed to see that. Phineas is so insecure about having meltdowns. And Buford stops him like "woah woah why are YOU apologizing??"
And Phineas answers, "I shouldn't have yelled at you!"
And Buford says "Why not?? You where overwhelmed, you had to get it out."
And Phineas is trying to explain himself but he just basically admits he hates showing such an ugly emotion. And Buford argues that it's part of him and maybe he should respect that side of who he is because it's just how his body responds to stress and defends itself. And Phineas goes "Are you seriously psychoanalyzing me right now???" And Buford shrugs and says "I'm just saying if you think it's ugly to yell at someone who's mistreating you that's a sad way to live." And Phineas is like "huh." Because for some unbelievable reason Buford is making sense somehow. Phineas is still a little miffed but it does change he way he sees his meltdowns.
hey. You’re cool. I have a question. Is there like a meltdown but for adhders? I think I’m audhd, but I have friends. Also want to find out for myself. Anyway. Thanks. You’re cool.
ahhh!!! hiiii!!! :3 you’re super cool too! and hmmm, well, i know adhders experience overstimulation/sensory overload as well, and also with the way adhd brains are, we struggle with emotional regulation, and often times are very dysregulated, so i wouldn’t be surprised if the response to overstimulation/sensory overload, as well as other things, looks a lot the same as a meltdown. and i’ve just looked it up as well that yes, adhders can and do experience meltdowns as well. so yeah! :]

The Hidden Sense Behind Big Feelings: Why Interoception Shapes Autism and ADHD Meltdowns
Ever noticed your child melting down over what seems like nothing? Sometimes it is not the noise or the rules or even the homework. It is their body signals that feel out of sync. This is where interoception comes in, a sense most people have never even heard of, but it is often called the “8th sense.” Interoception is basically the brain’s way of noticing signals inside the body. Hunger, thirst,…
