i finally got my new adhd medication. took my very first dose about twenty minutes ago. i am strongly fighting an overwhelming urge to go lay down and sleep so idk how this is gonna go…

I tapered off over the last four weeks and realized that it must have stopped being effective some time ago. Getting on something else is turning out to be super complicated.
I miss the quiet so much. I have legitimately had crying spells because I keep thinking that I’d rather not have had that stillness at all than to have experienced it only to feel it amplify into noise and chaos again.
I’m about to turn fifty years old and I have done almost every minute of my life on hard mode.

i need to unpack my stereo system but to do that i need to make room for it by moving several boxes that i can’t unpack right now but to make room for those boxes i have to finish organizing the art cart so guess who has just been scrolling on their phone for two hours now
I accidentally skipped a dose of my (non-stimulant) ADHD medication and I only realized because I am now climbing the fucking walls. My husband just said “this is a good test” (of the medication’s efficacy) and I’m over here screeching ““““so i AM HYPERACTIVE after all !!!”””” while jubilantly piling every damn thing I have in my bedroom on top of my bed because I’m “sorting” stuff… O_o
