It makes me upset to read fics where one person in a relationship talks 'badly' about the other, even if it's a joke.
Like when they say 'you're annoying' or 'I hate you' or 'you're loud/too noisy' or anything like that it just bothers me because more often than not it's an adhd coded character it's being said to/about
And if I were the one in that relationship and my partner said they were there to keep me from bothering other people, I would die.
Like I would rather be dead then be with that person because believe it or not that is a put down.
If you can't write a partner who encourages/silently puts up with, their s/o's rambling, fidgeting, and so on, without making jokes about how much they hate it, then you shouldn't be writing them and you shouldn't be calling it fluff
(actually this goes for friendships too)
