How to Add Meta Tags

Adding meta tags is a bit more complicated than most of the tutorials that'll be posted here, but someone asked for it, so here it is in the most simplest way I could explain. Read very carefully and you shouldn't have any problems!

There are different types of meta tags that you can work with, but the most basic are font, color, text, and image.

First add ELEMENT 1 under <head>: <meta name="Color:Background" content="#ffffff" />

After you save and refresh, you should see a Background color option under "Appearance" on your Customize page. The default color will be white (#ffffff).

Now go back to your code and next to "background-color" of the .div or #div of your choice, add ELEMENT 2: {color:background}. It should look like this:

body{ background-color:{color:background}; } (Dont forget the closing semicolon)

This will make your background White.

Don't Forget to save and refresh it.

Basically, you can name the meta tags what ever you want but remember to keep the same format:

Basic Meta Tags and Defaults:

Element 1: <meta name="Font:Body" content="Arial" />

Element 2: {font:body}

Element 1: <meta name="Text:Header" content="The Amazing 1" />

Element 2: {text:header}

Element 1: <meta name="Image:Sidebar" content="http://data2.whicdn.com/images/77062480/large.jpg" />

Element 2: {image:sidebar}

Element 1:<meta name="Color:Background" content="#ffffff" />

Element 2: {color:background}
