Your Wonka design is, without a doubt, one of the best I have ever seen. I noticed he has a scar on his head. While designing him, did you ever have an idea for where he got that scar?

i tend to think of him as carefree to the point of recklessness, even when it concerns his own safety, so i imagine he gets into a lot of work-related accidents. getting nicked and burned and beat up and so on by his own contraptions on a fairly regular basis. i like the ominous air of danger that surrounds the factory with its incomprehensible, enormous, indifferent, relentless machinery and this idea that next to nothing leaves it unchanged, the way resources and raw ingredients leave as processed product, the way the children are marked for life after their visit, etc., and i think this should extend to its owner as well. i never thought of a very specific scenario that caused the scar. whatever happened, his permanently unevenly dilated pupils also resulted from the same head trauma. a separate incident is the reason for his occasional reliance on a cane. now, does he ever learn from any of these injuries? no <3
