The term “acquittal” in the recent Senate trial only applies to the political process of impeachment. It has absolutely no effect on criminal prosecutions or civil suits.
In addition to the investigations in Georgia and New York, Trump can still face criminal charges in DC for his role in the US Capitol insurrection by pro-Trump terrorists. Mitch McConnell, Josh Hawley, and Ted Cruz can’t save his ass in the courtrooms the way they did in the Senate chamber.
If I remember correctly, Trump lost 60 of the 61 court cases related to the election between November 3rd and January 5th. Even if he quintuples his legal success rate, he’s still in a heap of trouble.
