What might be a few titles you'd recommend for someone just starting out but who wanted to read more?
for texts themselves, i recommend starting with táin bó cúailnge (translated by kinsella or carson under the title "the táin"), both because it slaps and because it's easily available in a recent, general-audience translation. then after that there are some good stories in jeffrey gantz "early irish myths and sagas", just ignore everything he writes in his introductions because most of it's outdated or flat out wrong. if you're really keen, "tales of the elders of ireland" (acallam na senorach) translated by dooley and roe is one of the biggest finn cycle texts. i say this one if you're really keen because i think structurally this one is a bit more challenging if you're not used to medieval lit so can be a bit boring to try to read through like a novel! but there's lots of good stories contained within it
for books about medieval irish lit i recommend everything by mark williams. "the celtic myths that shape the way we think" sounds like a wishy washy title but it's a solid intro to a bunch of stories and the challenges of working with them and the uses they've been put to. "ireland's immortals" is more academic but a great source for the mythological side of things and the afterlives of medieval texts in the early modern and modern era
if you look through my "reading list" tag there are probably a few more with links and things!
