I think Cassian and Nesta are both reincarnated Gods. Nesta of Death and Cassian of War because they have both been called that or compared to them.

Death and War go hand in hand. So what if when they were gods (their first life) they fell in love. Soulmates. Then the Illyrian god of war died and the death goddess lived for, oh, about 500 years longer? Which would explain why Nesta is much younger than Cassian and their pull to each other and explains why Cassian said “I have no regrets in my life, but this. That we did not have time. That I did not have time with you, Nesta. I will find you in the next world - the next life.” (-Sarah j. Maas).

I’ve heard from many people that they are fearful of the possibility of Nesta’s healing process might be based and built basically upon sex (with Cassian, in this case).

Well, we all know how strong and undeniable is Nessian attraction, but I can’t picture things getting down that road.

I just finished Crescent City today and I may say that Bryce and Nesta have more similarities than most of the readers would guess.

In one of my previous posts I said I do believe in the possibility of Nesta trying to kill herself. In CC, we find out that Bryce almost got at this point either. Nevertheless, Sarah has done an amazing job in Bryce’s building as character — from her trauma structure to her healing process. And I’m still wonderstruck how beautiful it was the moment she got out of the darkness and decided to embrace who she was and to accept her pain, her grieving and the whole shit around her. Bryce got free from her own demons in a remarkable act of courage, love and self-acceptance, so I rely on the chance that indicates SJM is able to do the same with Nesta.

In CC, Bryce and Hunt have a great sexual dynamic, but it doesn’t interrupt Bryce’s growing up moments. I don’t feel like they are a lecherous or even a superficial couple, what I see is a couple made by two scarred people who decided to heal together and let the physical attraction comes along with that. What it is not bad at all. It is totally different from a healing based upon lust or sex. Nonetheless, they really match, eventually.

also scary, nesta spells out for us why.

literally fuck any and every man who ever calls a woman a bitch. i know amongst friends we use it and laugh. i don't mind when my friends do it, i do it too. some women feel comfortable with men using it in a jokey way, too, but he is such a colossal piece of shit for calling her a bitch in seriousness. also, the insult to feyre?! we clearly know she's just mad she won't visit as earlier in the story nesta says so herself!!

Short answer: She is interesting to read about but if I came upon her in real life I’d want to deck her. 

Elaboration: Nesta has always been a character who split me in half. I don’t like her as a person, but I find her really interesting to read about! Still, interest isn’t really enough for me to excuse the things she has done. 

From the beginning of the story, Nesta makes it her mission to belittle Feyre as often as possible. She repeatedly bites the hand that feeds her. When Feyre kills the wolf, Nesta thinks she should get new boots out of the pelt despite Feyre’s own boots literally falling apart at the seams. Her blatant disregard for her baby sister’s needs has always grated on me.

Not to mention Nesta’s nasty comments frequently thrown at Feyre; so often, that Feyre would flinch in anticipation when Nesta opened her mouth. Nesta routinely slutshames Feyre for having a casual sexual relationship with a local boy. She hits Feyre anywhere she knows it’s going to hurt. 

And since then? She hasn’t changed.
