She stands on a path. It's a path that leads... somewhere. She thinks it goes to a town.

Actually, no. She knows it goes to a town.

Standing in front of her, horns shining in the light emanating from the glowing mushrooms, is Xerneas.

"What do you want?" she asks.

The legendary doesn't respond, just takes a step forward.

She takes a step back, cursing herself as she does because she knows that you can not walk backwards in a forest without expecting to trip over tree roots.

It repeats.

One step forward, one step back. One step forward, one step back.

The mushrooms begin to glow brighter, teal and pink light melding together.

She blinks once, twice, three times, and watches as Xerneas melts into the light, as Xerneas dissolves from her sight like sugar in water, as Xerneas blends in with the trees like it was never there in the first place.

She wakes up and scowls at the sunbeams hitting her face.
