Together with Sandy, we visited DreamWorks Animation: The Exhibition on beautiful blue-skied Melbourne day. I was really excited to visit this exhibition as it featured one of my favourite animations of all time, How to Train Your Dragon.
I was not disappointed as a life-sized replica of Toothless, a Nightfury; once described as the “Unholy Offspring of Lightning and Death Itself” was there to greet me at the entrance of the exhibition. Yes I am a huge fan of the film!

Daily dose of flightless birds
There are three parts to this exhibition; mainly Character, Story and World. In each part, there are lots of concept drawings, models, sketches and so on. Which is really interesting to watch and discover what goes on behind the animator’s mind before he brings a character and story to life. I really enjoyed the concept art part as there is just so much creativity and imagination that goes on in the studio.

The highlight of the exhibition is hands down a 180-degree Dragon’s-Eye View of Berk. Featuring a never-before-seen footage from How to Train Your Dragon, you get to experience the view of a Night Fury as he flies around Berk which is pretty darn amazing if I might add.
