iβve just recently reached my 20s, and i havenβt been able to explore most of it yet so i honestly have no idea what ur going thru. i donβt plan on speaking over you but i also had a similar experience w my past friends; every time i hang out with them it just drains the life out of me and i constantly have to keep up with this certain presentation of myself so i can retain their impression of me. and what sucks most about it is that as much as i tried to be more understanding of them, the more they used that as an opportunity to corner me and make me feel bad about myself. and i just realized how competitive they were; i felt so suffocated bc whatever they did that i know i lack, i have to keep up in order to avoid being left behind. it gave me so much anxiety.
iβve now found a new set of friends (better imo) who supports me in what i do and have fun with me. iβm in a happier place now. of course, itβs entirely different from being an adult if u compare it, but iβm glad iβve already removed myself from those people who do nothing but question my worth. donβt settle for less and for people who under-appreciates u and ur value. ur more than that π

Iβve trained myself to not feel sad being by myself most of the timeΒ βcause it beats having to put up a presentation of myself (as you nicely worded). Iβm actually all about self-care / self-love these days but I do try and make it a point to hang out with people who matter once in a while, thatβs why it was just even more disappointing when one of them made such rude comments towards me. But!! Iβm feeling better already cause I have many things that keep me happy like SNK and Jean heheh it was just disappointing at that moment ^^
