°â.ă.:* â HIS teacher was going to kill him ... but not if the stranger, whoâs entirely drenched in junhwanâs coffee, kills him first. Â
it wasnât even entirely his fault; junhwanâs just got an annoying pair of legs that are too long and too clumsy for his own good. itâs actually a miracle that heâs good at sports because despite his fierce determination and passion for basketball, it seemed like half the time his body didnât agree with him and junhwan ended up as a tangled mess on the ground, most of the time, just from walking.Â
and today seemed to be no different as junhwan gripped the two cups of scorching hot coffee between his nimble fingers and rushed out of the coffee shop, trying to beat the clock and get to his next class before it started. heâs got two minutes so he starts jogging ( junhwan shouldâve never offered to get people coffee, especially to people he liked because itâs becoming really dangerous )Â and the minute he turns the corner of the sidewalk before him, he runs smack dab into another person which leads to junhwanâs unfortunate fate ... essentially lunging both cups of coffee straight onto the person he bumped into and before he knew it, all the contents of those cups were gone.
now, heâs left with two empty cups and a stranger soaked in his five dollar coffee. junhwan actually might start crying.Â
âiâm so, so sorry,â were the first words to leave his lips, his tone extremely exaggerated and dripping of apologizes as he stares at the stranger with wide eyes. â ââ are you okay? it was my fault ... oh god, that coffee was really, really hot. both of them. i didnât see you, iâm so sorry.â
he reaches out and, unsuccessfully, starts dabbing his own sleeves of his dongnam uniform onto the strangerâs wet areas that screamed spilled coffee, trying his best to help the other without any real thought or utensils. he just entirely hoped that the stranger would understand because really, junhwan was trying.

" i hear snsd's coming!!!!! " ( snsd fanboys. gr8.)
BOARDWALK DANCE ASKBOX MEME : currently open !
°â.ă.:* â JUNHWAN almost trips over his own two feet at the exclamation and drops his basketball in the process. he normally wouldnât be fond of bystanders interrupting him during his solo practices because they were solo practices for a reason. but he supposed this was a good enough excuse because it was snsd and he would probably give up basketball if it meant to see taeyeon in the flesh.
( so yeah, he was a really big fan. )
âsnsd is performing at the dance? no way,â he replies in almost an instant, fingers gripping onto the otherâs shirt and shaking as if it were to get answers out of the other. âdo you think theyâre going to perform gee? do you think taeyeon is going to perform? do you think i can meet taeyeon sunbaenim?â
heâs so excited that he could puke but he smiles, bright and hopefuly anyway as he continues to shake the other.Â
âweâve got to go find out ââ câmon!â he then pulls onto the fabric, ignoring any protest and declines while jogging excitedly back towards the school.

BIOGRAPHY!
imagine this.
youâre born in zheijang to two loving and talented musiciansă Ąone a singer, the other a composeră Ąbut youâre also born to high expectations. a little ukulele handed to your little hands. if that didnât work out, a little guitar. and then a little drum, a little microphone, a little cello. it gets a little tiring, if youâre being honest. barely blooming into childhood and having your plans being made for you. (then again, you suppose thatâs what itâs like to be a child.)
six years old and you find your talent lying in the ivory keys of a piano. your parents are delighted when you finish playing FĂźr Elise (a watered down version, of course. youâre six, not a prodigy yet. that comes later.) and they clap. you notice the relieved look on their faces and think that theyâre more glad youâre not completely musically inept as they feared you would be, and the zhou family name can live on to be known as the one to be feared in music. so it continues.
you get better and better, the pieces become longer and longer, the applause rings in your ears.
the press say theyâve never heard such a talented ten year old pianist, even though thatâs a lie and in a few years theyâll probably replace you for some newer, carbon copy. you know theyâll never be as good as you, though, no matter how hard they try. between music sheets and new pianos, you find comfort in the art of dance. itâs unheard of to your parents, who file everything under music and not music. they donât stop you, though. they say they wonât, as long as you stay as the child prodigy of zheijang.
you become the ex child prodigy when youâre thirteen.
itâs an odd age for you. a teenager now, and no longer considered as extraordinary as before. you can play ten minute pieces on the piano, dance to ten minute songs, but itâs not remarkable. youth gets stepped on and in the industry where the younger you are, the better you will be when you grow. the news stop headlining your performances and even if your parents are still well known, you canât help but feel shameful at the thought of the crown that gets swiped off your head. âteenage prodigyâ doesnât sound as impressive.
you come home one day to packed bags and three one way tickets to korea. when you ask, your parents reply with âa new beginning.â you wonder why, but never voice it. theyâre your parents, anyways, you have no right to wonder. even when itâs hard to adjust to the life there, the strange language and mannerisms, the occasional stare of one who feels as though theyâve seen you somewhere before but donât have the guts to ask, you never once complain to your parents.
because you find your piano and dance does all the talking.
itâs nice, to receive applause and wide eyed wonder in another country where you can start from the beginning again. just pop up out of nowhere, a teenager from china thatâs talented beyond words. it only takes a bit of research for people to find your old performances and think: wow, i really just saw that in real life. youâd be lying if you say the praise doesnât please you, make you preen.
so you begin to rebuild your reputation, your family grows proud again, you feel the weight of the crown resting atop your head where it belongs. the language barrier isnât hard anymore, even if you stutter now and then, you find it easier to pick up. itâs not long before schools come into mind and your parents search frantically for a prestigious high school that you deserve to go to.
kurin arts academy is what they decide on. you check it out on the website, find that itâs got a dance club and an orchestra. thereâs nothing more you want, really, so you shrug your shoulders and end the topic with a âsure.â
itâs a good school. prestigious, dealing with the arts yet maintaining a respectable amount of science and maths. you find yourself liking it, liking the sunbaes and teachers and lessons. thereâs not that much to complain about, even though sometimes you come home with tired legs, tired fingers and a dull ache in your bones. you write it off as something you should get used to: youâre a pianist and dancer, it happens.
you can stop imagining this is you now. because itâs not. itâs zhou jinhai.
this feeling that comes to me / every night without fail / for some reason i hate it / then i try calling you again / just in case youâre feeling the same thing as me â¤đ
they weigh heavy on the tip of her tongue, the words she wonât say.
four am and sheâs got the world in her hands, pressed against her like itâs the only thing keeping her afloat, keeping her conscious. itâs the ninety proof taken five times over thatâs probably beleaguering her right now, but she canât shirk this feeling â the sensation in her head, in her fingers, in the place between her ribcage that used to hold a heart. thereâs a something there that she canât grasp entirely. it slips past her so fast itâs almost a ghost, except it leaves her warm when sheâs cold.
jinhaiâs voice cuts through her reverie, clear where sheâs hazy, and the sound makes her heart beat erratically. like itâs the first time again, like sheâs never before heard a boy speak to her with a smile set in the tone of his voice.
ânoona,â the phone makes him sound gravelly â or maybe itâs the fact that itâs the dead of night. he was probably sleeping, she thinks in hindsight, though thereâs a something in the back of her mind that makes her think that heâd been up waiting for her too.
the words are heavier now.
i miss you already. do you miss me too? what does it mean, to miss you so much?
but she decides: not tonight.
not to him.
âjinhai-yah,â the smile on her face is so brilliant that if he was here with her, sheâd know it was a sham. âi just wanted to tell you i got home okay, is all. sleep well, okay?â
acknowledges that he can be a p.o.s. sometimes, but heâs her p.o.s. â jinhai could tell her that he killed a man and her reaction would be a) âwhat the fuckâ and then b) âwhereâs the body weâve got to hide itâ.
people always assume they purposefully match their colour schemes when theyâre out at a formal gathering, but 99% of the time itâs unplanned and even theyâre surprised when it happens.Â
they have a special hand signal for when theyâre in a boring conversation and want the other to save them. hands behind the back, index finger beckoning.
her coach/publicist refers to him as âthat boyband date of yoursâ (nevermind the fact that heâs not in a boyband, but w/e).
whenever people used to ask if they were actually together yena liked to make up ridiculous stories in response (âno weâre actually engaged to be wedâ âheâs actually an orphan boy i picked up on the streetâ) â no one asks anymore.
jinhai knows all her drunk habits. like 1) when she thinks a boy is cute and her eyes start to sparkle a little bit more, or 2) when she starts asking everyone to play drinking games with her itâs time for some calm down time, etc. conversely, she knows all of his.
sheâs really touchy and dotes on him a lot. like straightens his tie and fixes his hair and tucks his tags in his shirt. likes linking arms with him.
they enable each other a lot and itâs gotten her into some troublesome situations in the past, but itâs all in good fun.
genuinely, truly likes jinhai because he doesnât judge (or, well, he does, but itâs a friendly, teasing judgment), because he doesnât pry, because he makes her laugh when she dearly needs to.Â
rowdy 5 y/o children together, tbh. stop inviting them to formal galas theyâre just there to snicker and knock the toupĂŠes off of old men.
