This post shall be my last for my ACIDSPLASHED art event. From the beginning of this build to the reveal at TFCon… I have many things I wish to share about this journey

A warm thank you to TFCon for hosting such a fun weekend at LA !

And a HUGE amount of love to those who saw my ACIDSPLASHED art event through! The support from such an amazing community of people opened my eyes to a wide variety of artists of ALL kinds ! I even had a few people approach me and tell me they’ve been following my progress and I couldn’t have been more grateful that they came up to me to talk.

I had the pleasure to meet and hold the most inspiring conversations with so many and I can’t tell you all how much that had meant to me… thank you all for taking the time to meet with me and share as much as you have !

AND THANK YOU TO @ myla_xan for custom designing my Acidstorm bag!! It was so perfect and I hold so much respect and love towards your work 💚

I also wanted to express my deep love for those who took this trip with me… friends from all over flew this convention, and I was able to make so many new memories with a grand total of 11 people who shared the same roof with me. These people know who they are, and you all mean the world to me… thank you for sharing such valuable time with me over this weekend, and of course it was so hard to say goodbye. Everyone’s presence brought tears to my eyes and I can’t wait until we meet again!

Thank you again, to everyone, because without all these attendees, artists, VA’s and to all the people who were the backbone of this convention, my experience and treasures (memories and objects) would never have been the same without you. 💙🧡

This journey marks the end of my ACIDSPLASHED Art Event… but starts the beginning of my new one!

I'm so excited to show off my final design! I loved how EVERYTHING turned out and I absolutely can not WAIT to go to TFCon! I have one last thing to do before I can say this project is complete! So please look out for a surprise I've been working on in order to wrap up this whole art event! XOXO

Hello everyone!! I'm proud to announce my new Art Event! (my first here on Tumblr)

This is everything thats happened on day 4!

This day was mainly focused on one HUGE thing… Painting!!!

I had decided to quit working on my gauntlets for this day because I thought it would have been a nice break to decompress and focus on painting and texturing the backpack/wings, as well as the hair pieces!

To prime my foam before I paint, I use Modpodge… I was going to use flex paint buuuut… didn’t have any! So I was resourceful and decided to make a dent in my giant tub.

Typically when I make TF related costumes, I ALWAYS get the gloss Modpodge, helps the paint look shinier!

I painted it with a glossy flat green, and Modpodge has this really pretty shimmer overcoat that I used as its top coat!! That’s what gives the green that sparkly look!!

You can also see I taped off where I drew the stripes that are on the seekers wings! That way I could hand paint them easier with a white bg rather than a green :)

The red and white liked on the wings were mixed and sprinkled with gold glitter! There’s a big glitter theme with this costume! I love glitter!

I also painted the inside of the vents gray in both the back pack pieces and the head piece! (Which I never took a picture for :/)

But next was the best part that brought my entire vision together! I got to play around with texturing with sponges to help my design look acid burned and filthy! It was so fun doing this! And the results made me cry 😭

The last thing I did on day 4 was style my wig!! It wasn’t anything crazy, just some messy but cute style!

Onto day two!

The second day of my event has arrived and I spent the entire day outside from 8am to 6:30 pm gluing together pieces, designing a base for the head piece(s) and adding foam layers and textures to the back pack and wings! I also made the little vents that sit above the seeker’s shoulders and textured those too!

To be honest everything went super smooth on day 2, I didn’t really run into any bumps since I had made my layouts the night before…

Despite there being no bumps, the entire day was a bit awkward. I live in an apartment complex and we do not have balconies here. Instead we have a slab of concrete and a little space in front of our door that we could technically consider a porch. Since I was working with very strong adhesive glue and heat gunning and shaving foam, I had to set up outside cause there’s little outlets out front of the door and I don’t want that shit all over the apartment for me or my cats to breathe in or deal with.

But this also means I was now set up outside…

One delivery guy showed up and I had a whole conversation with him sort of awkwardly explaining what I was making because he kept asking me questions. It wasn’t a big deal, really, I love sharing my geeky side, but it was one of those conversations where he asked who the character was and once I told him we just kinda looked at eachother in silence. You could clearly tell this guy had no idea who Acid Storm was…

He then admitted to only knowing the live action movies by asking “which movie is he in?”

I just told him he’s in the original G1 cartoons from the 80’s and left it at that because I knew I could lore dump all I wanted and this man wouldn’t have understood…

But anyways, he was a nice guy though! I’m glad he stopped to talk with me regardless of the conversation awkwardly falling off due to lack of finding mutual ground… but it’s cool! He walked away with a causal chuckle and we both said our goodbyes and went on with our day.

Anyways here are the progress photos to show what I worked on day 2! I’m pretty proud with how it’s coming along!
