Even though it was a couple months ago, the bill that was passed in Arkansas, MY HOME STATE, that bans transgender minors from getting any form of gender-altering care it STILL makes my blood boil.

Dozens of trans people figure out their identity when they’re still in their minor years. Often these people are told that they’re too young to figure out what they are and who they want to identify as. And even those with parents who accept them and want to help them become comfortable with who they are, this law is forcing them to wait YEARS before actually transitioning.

I looked up news clips and the amount of people agreeing and calling the meds and surgeries used for transitioning child abuse made me even more pissed. Especially for a non-binary person like me who isn’t comfortable with my body this law is just saying ‘boo-hoo you have to wait till your a legal adult and even then people will say you’re too young to figure it out!’

I’ve said it once and will say it again, PARENTS CANT CHANGE OR STOP THEIR CHILD FROM WHO THEY WANT TO IDENTIFY AS. Some people seriously need to get this through their thick-ass skulls. Even though the governor vetoed the bill initially, but some bastards decided to override it and still pass it!

I used to be proud to be an Arkansan, but now with this new bill it makes me upset and ashamed. Dysphoric kids are going to suffer because of this bill, such as me and multiple others. Suicide levels will most likely go up because of this bill, and that’s a part of this whole thing that baffles me that people can’t understand will happen. Saying that banning use of treatment will help minors is sometimes the complete opposite, sometimes it’ll hurt them.
