This isn’t my best at all, I'm so not used to writing Bechloe and Aca-child, and I'm sorry it’s really short, but it’s all I can do for now...
“Emily, come on, you’re gonna be late for your first day of school!”
“Coming!!” Beca and Chloe stood by the front door, cameras ready to take pictures of Emily.
Chloe couldn’t believe that her only child is going off to high school. Her sweet little Emily, who just yesterday had a mental breakdown about growing up and going to high school.
“What if they don’t like me?” Emily cried out, as she sat on her bed, knees pulled up to her chin. Chloe walked over to the girl and took a seat next to her on the best and rested her hand on her back.
“They will, I promise. It’s kind of hard not to like you, yeah?” Emily nodded and wiped the tears away. Chloe pressed a kiss on the girl’s forehead and wrapped her arm around her.
Emily ran down the stairs, dragging her new book bag behind her. She was just a little frazzled.
“Emily! You look so cute!” Chloe ran over to her daughter and enveloped her in a hug. “You’re so grown up, I don’t want you to go to school and leave us again.”
Emily had always loved to spend time with her moms, but during the summer, she started to drift away from them a little bit, like most teenagers do. Beca and Chloe decided to give her some space and freedom, even if it was hard for them. Beca had argued that her dad never gave her any privacy or freedom, which is partly why she grew up to resent him and she didn’t want that kind of relationship with her daughter.
Emily started to pull out of the hug, but that caused her mother to pull her in even tighter.
“Chlo, you’ve got to let go of her, she’s going to be late,” Beca said as she tugged on her wife’s arm, pulling her away. Emily flashed her a grateful smile, Beca nodding in response.
“Sorry honey,” Chloe said, wiping a tear from her cheek. “Come stand by the door so I can get a quick picture of you.” Emily rolled her eyes but did what she was told. Beca took out her phone and snapped a couple pictures of Emily.
There was a honk coming from outside, meaning Em’s ride was here. Her Aunt Stacie was picking her up in the mornings, as she had to take her own daughter, Zoe, to school.
“Okay, I gotta go,” Emily started, before wrapping her arms around both of her mom’s. Chloe kissed her on her cheek, leaving a red lipstick mark on the girl.
“Mom! You’re wearing lipstick!” Emily brought her hand to her cheek and rubbed off some of the lipstick residue on her hand. “Great, now I have it on my cheek!”
Beca started chucking under her breath at how fidgety Emily got when Chloe licked her thumb and tried to clean her cheek. The young girl tried to swat away her mom’s hand but failed, as Chloe smoothed her thumb over the mark. She scrunched her nose in disgusted, which Beca found adorable. Emily was just like her in that way, and it kind of made her happy.
“Momma, make her stop,” Emily whined, looking at Beca. All she could do was laugh at the interaction.
Finally, Chloe let go of the young girl and stood by Beca as she watched Emily run out the door and into Stacie’s car.
“I miss her already.”
