A hell fairy and fellow soldier named Clementia taught Veno how to play the guitar. Months later, he figured out how to play the electric guitar and make it sound cool without an amplifier. (It involves some superhuman shenanigans I haven't figured out yet.)

He listened to a few CDs he found in a ruined music shop to get a better idea of how his guitar is "supposed" to sound. Raining Blood is his favorite so far, but he's been combining the best aspects of what he heard into his own playing.

Pain boosts his adrenaline and empowers him in other general superhuman ways. The engineers behind Project MMG thought it an effective way to keep him from retreating from any possible further combat against the "Miikrenites".

His preference for unarmed combat is just that: a preference. That his fists, feet, and especially his forehead can do more damage than most firearms is mostly a coincidence.

Look, I get it, you grew up with this timeless classic that did everything right and pushed new ground in this genre that you yourself owe a lot of your formative experience to. That's all well and good.

Have you considered that that can be true, and the remake of something can make it easier to get into? The current, reoccurring discourse around RE4make comes to mind and while I respect a lot of RE4 Original's intentions and how much it matters to the history of the franchise, I'm also someone who had to buy all their games with milk money and begging and couldn't form that experience on my own. So being an adult and owning both, I can at least say that my biggest issue is simply that I don't like RE4 Original's steam port. It just simply lacks what I need to enjoy it. Namely a 16x9 resolution.

It also goes into your recent take on what it means for something to be 'soulless' and my own experiences with people's overinvested, borderline racist tirades on that front so I'm kinda hard to impress with that argument. Plus if you really want a proper example of a shitty remake.

The front mission trilogy getting shitty ai upscaled and machine translated remakes that take pretty much everything people enjoy and quashing it, or the schlocky americanized spike lee remake of Oldboy that pretty much fails to hit the same beats for simply lacking...authenticity? Feels like an accurate statement in that regard.

Or if you really wanna open cans of worms, the definition of the word 'remake' itself with the ff7R games, nevermind that remake in of itself has never really been defined objectively considering aspects change all the time, just never on the scale nomura and kitase have done with ff7R because it's borrowing from over 20 years of ff7's extended canon. Including Kyrie from The Kids are Alright of all things.

Or, you know, Kiwami 3 existing basically to have RGG tell on themselves on how much 20 years of being pro-women by hiring a self-admitted predator whose victims still have ptsd over. Also yokoyama admitting he can't write for Ichiban for some strange reason.

not bad honestly. thinking about lever actions tho just reminded me of the volcanic handgun specifically which was such a really interesting idea for a semi-auto handgun early on

||: Thats fair, though I don't think the Volcanic would be considered a semi-auto since you have to actively lever it to fire another bullet. Semantics aside, I think something interesting about the pistol was it's ammunition, mainly being that it was one of the earliest metal cartridge munitions built at the time. This was probably why they miniaturized it into a pistol.

||: although, I'm not fond of the tubular magazine with the ammunition. If you know about tube feeding mechanisms, you will get why.

Positioned behind a giant blade, barrel atop his wrist resting over it's guard, it was clear what the intent was. A massive, bright glow was forming at the end of it, aimed directly at what was threatening the town.

Without any words, it seemed the communication was clear.

If Luluka can buy some time, he can guarantee this is an easy problem to solve for them both.

This, frankly, wasn't Luluka's problem. This monster wasn't the product of anything the Phantom Thieves made and it definitely didn't have anything to do with the Star Detective duo.

She was supposed to be going after a Makoto Jewel not too far from here. If that thing destroyed Makoto Mirai, there wouldn't be anything to steal, so this wasn't a detour.

At least, before a projectile of some description nears the one seated off to his side, swiftly knocked back by a swift knuckle slamming in to it's side.

Thinking rather quickly, he at least makes an offer...

"I can lead you out of here. At least before this gets any messier."

Pick and choose one's battles, they say. No need to stick around for what'll only get worse.

Zelda had already been scolded by countless of elders including Impa, warning her about the risks of leaving the castle alone. They'd insisted on sending many knights, those who'd roam near her and guard wherever she chose to visit. She was adamant on her refusal, mainly to avoid drawing attention to herself and possibly scaring any townspeople who might wonder why there was so much security around them.

However, as chaos erupted around her in the theater, she had really wished the knights had come along to at least protect others. Her magic, though rather sporadic and still not fully controlled by the princess, would surely defend her--if it weren't for the man who deflected the hit himself.

She ducked her head down for a second in case a second blow was coming toward them, eyes wide with shock listening to his offer. As the occupants quickly dwindled while the seconds passed, she knew best not to dwell and draw attention to herself for what was already a catastrophe of a night.

"Alright, I'll follow you," she agreed.
