Ah, a wild beast is in me

In my skin is where I feel it crawl

Rising up and fading as it struggles

Like bubbles

Ah, this beastly sadness I feel

Has got me under its control

Tautology in my grip turns into bubbles

Rather than gazing at the clouds that pass

I just scream into the sky

Pain that's so bad that I can't catch my breath

Cause I ran out of time

So, slow-slow-slow-slowly let my dreams be the kindling

Of the light of my soul

Let the sparks ignite in me the joy I long to know

Each thought I've got doesn't add up to much more than change;

With the burning words I hold

I will count whatever hasn't gotten cold

And then gather them close

Come--look, see, everybody, now

At my drying-up and pitiful beast

Hear a hiss as it begins to boil over

Ah, after I blew the candle out

It seems the only thing left for me

Is hollow pedantry and nothing more

Why do I still continue screaming back

At the clouds passing me by?

Sorrow so bad I can't even feel sad

Cause I ran out of time

So-so-so-so if I can only ask for one thing

Send my lonely heart a sun

And ignite the fire of the joy that I've never touched

Even my rage doesn't add up to much more than change

Although my hands are rife with pain

I just count whatever hasn't burned away

And pick it up the same

All but broken and doubtful, worn thin

And still I long for the sun

So go ahead, light the fire in me every round

Till it spills out

Call it magic, fiction, escapism

Or whatever you want

Just set the fire higher even now;

Come and make me shiver somehow

This slow-slow-slow-slowly setting sun's burning into my eyes

Inside of my soul,

Let the sparks ignite in me the joy I longed to know

These thoughts aren't enough, so go above and beyond them

With still burning words I hold

Some have even burned away but even so
