Victoria James (from UK) takes inspiration from her surroundings and life experience. Victoria was born in London in 1974, and studied at Chelsea College of Art and Design, London. She grew up in Switzerland where she currently lives and works. She has spent the last couple of years studying classical rules of palette composition and applying the golden ratio, which she now integrates as the structural basis to her work. She has exhibited internationally in both solo and group shows, previously by her maiden name, Oldham. She is currently preparing for a series of exhibitions in which she will show her more recent works.

Victoria creates vibrant flowing pieces with unique contrasts of light and darkness; sharp bold colours and intense brushstrokes break the light creating beautiful effects. Her pieces captivate the viewer, pulling us into exploring them further, discovering all kinds of thoughts and emotions. Victoria’s work is dominating, dramatic and demands engagement, each work provokes an intensely personal involvement.
