The day I found out about abrosexuality (June two years ago), I was really happy because I had finally found something that fit myself. Also, I was surrounded by queer people, so I announced it immediately and everyone was supportive.
That very afternoon, as I was talking to some other queer friends by text, one of them said "Happy pride month to everyone, except abrosexuals".
I was confused and really hurt, but I gathered the courage to tell her that I was abro. Turns out, a guy she knew claimed he was abro to cheat on his girlfriend, and that's all the contact she had with the label.
She apologised immediately, and I know none of them are homophobic, but I had always imagined that the day I figured out my sexuality would be a happy memory.
This is abrophobia and it is connected to homohobia/queerphobia
