تم نے دیکھا نہیں کہ تمہارے رب نے ہاتھی والوں کے ساتھ کیا کیا ؟

Hindi mo ba napag-alaman kung papaano ang ginawa ng Panginoon mo sa mga kasamahan ng elepante?

Разве ты не видел, что сделал твой Господь с владельцами слона?

Rabbinin, fil sahiplerini ne yaptığını görmedin mi?

¿No has visto cómo obró tu Señor con los del elefante?

เจ้าไม่เห็นดอกหรือว่า พระเจ้าของเจ้าได้กระทำกับพวกเจ้าของช้างอย่างไร ?

While Abdul-Mutalib and his relatives were engaged in dua, a sandstorm approached that was caused by the march of the soldiers. Abdul-Mutalib remained in dua until the elephants stopped and wouldn't move. Al-Aswad informed the king about this, and the king sent Abraha to establish a truce with Abdul-Mutalib. Their conditions were: hand over the men responsible for the church fire or to give the same number of people lost in the fire for retribution, as well as an amount of money to rebuild the church. Abraha and al-Aswad decided to send a man named Hanthala who was known for his ruthlessness. He reassured al-Aswad that the remainder of the Meccans either accept the truce or he'd come back with all their decapitated heads. As soon as he saw Abdul-Mutalib, he became afraid. He told him of the truce, but Abdul-Mutalib said: "How strange! You want the innocent take care of the crimes of the guilty, when we are the ones who reassure people's safety and fight oppression?! 

As for the Kaaba, I told your king before that it has it's own protector. If you want to march, then come. If you want to retreat, then retreat. So go back to your master, and inform him of what I said". When Hanthala heard that, he got angry and wanted to kill Abdul-Mutalib so he attacked him, but Abdul-Mutalib got a hold of him, threw him to the ground and hit him. Then he said: "By the glory of my Lord, if you weren't a messenger appointed by them, I would have killed you right there". Hanthala went back and informed the generals what happened, so they decided to attack. When they got close, all of a sudden a swarm of birds appeared from no where. They were carrying 3 rocks each, one of them was the size of a cicer, while the other two were as big as lentils. They all flew around until they were directly above the army. The soldiers became very afraid, stating that they haven't seen birds like that before. Al-Aswad tried to reassure them, and threw arrows to scare them away. Then the birds started screaming, as if they were making dua. A voice came out saying: "O' Birds, do what you have been ordered to do"  

Al-Aswad stayed in nearby Mecca until the forces of Abraha caught up to him. A lot of Abraha's forces were thirsty so they went to a nearby garden where they drank the water, took all the food, and Abdul-Mutalib's camels that were stored there. One of the caretakers of that garden managed to get away and tell Abdul-Mutalib what happened. Abdul-Mutalib was very angered by that, and said "this wealth belongs to Allah, as this is what we use to give to His visitors when they come for Hajj". He wanted to go to Abraha, but the people tried to stop him. Abdul-Mutalib informed them that he knew things that they don't, and that they shouldn't worry, as he'll come back. Abdul-Mutalib then went towards the enemies, and then they saw him, it was as if they were seeing a moon in the night sky. He asked to see the king, and after a commotion, he was allowed. The king's servants informed him of Abdul-Mutalib's arrival, so the king swore by everything he believed in that whatever Abdul-Mutalib asks, the king will refuse. He also instructed his ministers and generals to draw their weapons whenever he gave them a signal, and also had an elephant present, all of that to scare Abdul-Mutalib. When Abdul-Mutalib walked in, the king signaled to the elephant's caretaker to let the elephant loose. The elephant bowed down to Abdul-Mutalib, and sat in front of him as if he was an obedient slave. The king and his ministers were all shocked by that scene, especially because whenever they brought that particular elephant before and let him loose, he'd kill whoever was present without any hesitation. After witnessing that, the king was afraid of Abdul-Mutalib and was more lenient. He told Abdul-Mutalib that he'd fulfil any request he has, even if it was for him to retreat and not attack Mecca. Abdul-Mutalib only requested the camels that were stolen, and nothing else. The king gave it back to him, but asked Abdul-Mutalib why he hadn't asked the king to retreat. Abdul-Mutalib indicated that Mecca has it's own protector, and He will surely protect it from any harm. When Abdul-Mutalib left, the king ordered his forces to prepare and march towards Mecca and destroy it.
