This is Bird. Bird is a sweet, curious creature that is easily startled and loves chewing on leather shoes. She can mimic voices and bird noises, hence the name, especially well, and although bony and thin, loves a good cuddle IF a trust is established between both parties which is usually very difficult as she is a cannibal by nature.
She is a Wendigo, a human who has been turned into a creature due to the consumption of eating human flesh. This occurred many centuries before Columbus had discovered America, and was in a ‘live or die’ situation. Yes what she did was bad, but unusually, she retained fragments of memory and personality traits. Forced to feed on humans in the wilds of Canada, she soon lost the feeling of guilt and became more adventurous, as well as curious, about the new humans that were not native to North America. They feared her as much as she feared them. Their bright flames burned her pale skin, forcing her deep into the mountains where she stayed..until the BPRD found her.
They spotted her creeping around an intelligence site, not harming anyone but actually poking and prodding their machines. One agent was stupid enough to approach her from behind, which startled Bird and ended up with her pouncing on him and tearing his head from his shoulders. They WERE going to shoot her, but using tazers, subdued and trapped her for further analysis. Years and years they studied her, and she studied them. Once trust was established, she was transported to the BPRD main facility, and is used for stealth missions very rarely.
Although lacking physical eyes, Bird can still see via vibrations, echolocation, scent (and a bit of magic). Standing at 7’6” feet tall, Bird usually crouched or is slouched. Her fingers are hard, sharp claws, as well as her toes, and her mouth extends from ‘ear to ear’ and is filled with needle-sharp teeth. Bird’s jaw can unhinge and fit an entire human head in it, but her throat is too small to swallow it. Her body is pale, and sickly thin, but she is not frail, and actually quite strong and agile. Her tongue is long and black, and is especially sensitive, allowing her to taste the air. Very fearful of fire or high temperatures as this is one of her main weaknesses.
