I'm a writer on and off for over 10 years. Originally wrote a bunch for Overwatch in 2016 and here I am back again in 2023.

I mostly have the big VN file on VScode, and all my art pieces on CSP are mostly titled with illustration(NUMBER) because i HATE typing on the ipad lmao.

8 - what’s your relationship with constructive criticism and feedback like? do you seek it out? how well do you take it?

I welcome it - as long as I seek it out. If you give it to me unasked in any way shape or form, I do not take well to it lmao. But if I want it, or expect it, I welcome it. I learned well how to take it and help it shape my writing for the better. That you don't need to agree with everything everyone says - especially if they're new to your style, or just getting to know it or you etc. Or just because it's something you really want to keep.

Following on from this, I can be quite fussy with who gives me constructive criticism. I need to trust the person. I need to know they know my style, and are familiar with it - or at least understand what I'm trying to achieve with it.

I've had nightmares with people trying to edit my style of writing into more conventional formats who don't get what I'm trying to do with it etc. Or just don't enjoy a more non-traditional approach?

But anyway, in general I really enjoy seeing what works and doesn't from another's eye, and where are my weaknesses and what I do good at - because I don't always see it.

13 - talk about a writing experience that has pleasantly surprised you

Probably starting to write interactive fiction? I'm very hmmm about 2nd person and it's still quite situational for me. So outside the very small /readers I did for 'the community' or whatever, doing these interactive novels was also kind of an exercise for me to practise writing in 2nd and to find more love for it - and it worked.

I really enjoy writing in 2nd now as long as its in this sort of interactive format, because it really works for me. And I think also my style lends quite well to it. I'm quite surprised how much I enjoy it really <3

19 - what are some books or authors that influenced your style the most?

Angela Carter and E. E. Cummings are big influences on my writing. Also Poppy Z. Brite, Joanna Russ, Ursula K. Le Guin, Philip K. Dick.

20 - what is your favorite trope to write?

I can't tell you how how much this ask made my DAY. Like....i was literally giggling kicking my feet when i read it love. I had to get up off my PC chair and walk around my flat i was so !!!!!!!!

I know IAMX yes!!! I listened to them a lot more when I was younger but ohmylordt yes this is the kind of vibe I want and try to get with my writing and I've been listening to I Like Pretending since. It's now on my Doll Parts playlist.

I'm always so humbled when people compare my writing to their favourite music, or find connections with it. Music and writing to me is interconnected. My writing doesn't happen without the other. I'm often told my writing is lyrical and musical. I started as a musician and always struggled to compose, but could express myself well when playing music. I think a part of me tries to compose through my writing instead, and it definitely shows. I'm glad it connects with people <3
