Things that make me feel feminine:
Dita Von teese is the modern day queen of burlesque. She has her own vintage lingerie line and she pulls a lot of her style from 1950s fashion and is obsessed with glamour. In multiple of her videos she always emphasizes that a woman should educate herself on all she can about sex, even if she doesn’t plan on doing it. She claims that a woman should always be sexually knowledgeable.
She has taught me that wearing feminine clothing such as lingerie or dresses enhances your female curves and thereby making you more likely to act and carry yourself in a more feminine appeal.
Dita is also the queen of elegance and poise. 2 tips she gives:
She says it’s always important to keep your dignity no matter how heart broken you are.
A woman is never rushed. She makes time to take time, in order to get ready.
In my history of East Asian class I learned of the meaning of the term “femme fatale”. This is a term that some rappers would use to describe women. But what does it mean ? It basically means beautiful and deadly. Back in the day in Asia, the town would put their most beautiful women at the top of their gates in hopes to distract their enemies.
I love wearing my dainty zodiac choker and my suede cinch in bracelet and Hawaii bangles.
I love wearing tight dresses and skrits when I run errands and my flip flops.
I love getting ready and doing my makeup and lips and put on heels before I go out.
There’s more to femininity than just looks. According to Robert Greene’s book “the art of seduction”, he describes Marilyn Monroe and Cleopatra as two of the best sirens in history. Meaning they are the ultimate type of seductresses who in theory is every mans type. Marilyn is a timeless Hollywood personality and she was even able to seduce the president (JFK) during her time. Regardless of being classified as a siren, she was very insecure and needed everyone to love her in order for her to feel loved.
What Marilyn taught me that feminity is more than just dressing feminine. It’s about being graceful and acting and carrying on yourself in a woman like way. A woman should also be responsible for her own happiness and self love. It comes from no one else but from inside of yourself. No one else can make you feel content.
I am trying my best to start swearing less.
To speak more slowly and mindfully by focusing on the breath. I think I try to get my thoughts out as quick as possible before someone interrupts me and I shouldn’t be able to feel afraid of that because my thoughts are just as valuable. I think more people should be more open to listening and spend more time in silence with other people around just to know that silence is not always awkward.
Women should also keep a bit of mystery about themselves in the bed room by being careful not to discuss everything so openly about their sex life, rather to have bystanders wonder.
Mannerisms are also very important to say please and thank you and never let a man know your feet hurt till you can do something about it. If you knew you were going to be walking all over the city, wear more appropriate attire.
Gardening is something I just got into during quarantine. It’s a hobby and a destresser. It’s something very rewarding when you see something you’ve been nurturing and taking care of be able to grow and flourish.
It’s something about the feminine that wants to care for things and make them grow. One aspect of feminity is creation and life. What you give a woman, she will magnify. A piece of cloth can turn into clothing. Flowers into a lei. Beads into jewelry. Groceries turn into dinner. A house into a home. A seed into a child.
I love children, I do. I would love to be a mother one day.
The spiral is an ancient symbol that represents the womb. It was found it caves drawings as a way to reflect the belly button. Kendrick Lamar also mentions it in his raps. “Right stroke put a baby in a spiral”. - humble: Kendrick Lamar
I love plants. Growing herbs and vegetables prove to you that you rep what you sow and it gives you back the fruits of your labor.
Having a clean space in which you can call your own is also very important.
I love doing DIY. Creating dream catchers and designing my space to feel more like home.
Move. I love to dance. Dance has always been a way to fully embrace, elevate, and show off your full femininity by allowing you to move and flow to music to show off your body, expressing your mood and sensuality.
Men love to see a woman move. A woman’s curves and physic are entrancing. A woman’s sexuality is quite powerful. Strip tease has always been a thing, and it teaches you to move slowly and gracefully. You can see across all cultures various shrines and sculptures depicting and admiring the female body.
The Cuban salsa group I use to dance with really help made me feel more confident and sexy and the more I ravel into dance, I realized how much I love challenges, music, and culture.
I also enjoy working on my flexibility
The gym is also important.
Part of being feminine is taking care of yourself. If you don’t, who is ? So it’s important to do the work to up keep yourself the same way you can see when a guy takes care of himself and it’s quite attractive.
We all have our off days where I’m guilty for it too. But it’s always important to look decent when in public. It will help you a lot in also helping you play and act more feminine.
Just getting my toes done today (French tips as always) helped me feel more feminine and I even scheduled a hair appointment which I haven’t done in years.
I love practicing skin care whenever I get out of the shower and manange my eczema.
I also love my perfumes. I’m trying to experiment with my scents that fits me and doesn’t give me a headache.
I love oils to use and diffuse, massage my legs to tell them thank you everyday for carrying me and I recently just put eucalyptus in my shower.
I love lighting candles and being able to set the mood before I go to bed. It adds a little bit of warmth.
Lastly, a great example of femininity is the feminine devine. The Virgin Mary is a goddess who cares for her sons and daughters. A perfect example of a mother and wife. A man is the head of the relationship but it’s the woman who is the neck.
A woman follows the lead of a righteous and respectful man but she will never lose her way.
As a woman I love connecting to my environment and people and things around me. You must be able to feel grounded and live in the moment and not be afraid to get hurt.
I love journaling because it allows me to express and dabble into all the thoughts of my mind without getting interrupted and without the fear of judgment. It connects my thoughts to the paper , to god, and back to myself. It is important to check in with yourself and develop your own intrapersonal skills.
A woman’s spirituality adds depth which adds to her character. We are more than just a beautiful face, and an object of sexual desire.
