i agree!! I personally think it's obvious he'll be redeemed, but how and in what way I think will likely be a surprise or perhaps the thing we don't expect. but they're conscious writers/directors who know that they can't rehash old storylines, so it'll definitely be different from vader's redemption.

I mean, tbh I don’t see even how it would be a darth vader like redemption - cause, let’s be honest, even HIS redemption arc was bittersweet cause the dude died, he still lost padme and all that pain-.

Considering everything that is happening on the movie, i find it VERY (excruciatingly) hard to believe their answer will be Kylo Ren is 100% evil and lost and so he will die and he won’t even get a friendly ghost a la Anakin.

If people that said he’s irredeemable stopped just three seconds to think about what it means they’ll come to the conclusion that it makes no sense with the rest of the movies. Why take a character and bring him back exactly to where he was on the first movie? Why talk so much about balance only to torch it all down and declare the light side wins

I think one fundamental thing people miss on star wars is that - crazily enough - the dark and light side aren’t even exactly just about good and bad dueling. It’s all about the LACK of balance. If there are people, who are force sensitive, they are naturally powerful. And if said people have EMOTIONS and DESIRES, they are at a great risk of falling “to the dark side” and use their powers for their own agenda,

There’s no way TO defeat the dark side cause the dark side ain’t a person, it’s human nature. And as long as there are people in the galaxy that are force sensitive and that will pass said power on, there are people on the galaxy that CAN have strong emotions and desires and use it against others.

It’s a NEVER ENDING BATTLE. The only thing that changes are the people playing it. Watch the prequels, watch the oldies, what this new ones.

It’s the same story. OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN. And it will NEVER end until someone FINALLY does ANYTHING different that what everyone has been doing all this freaking time.

That’s the whole freaking point. If Kylo either dies, is completely evil,or even dies and is a friendly ghost, it’s more of the same story and it will have the same outcome. The whole story would have been mute

I have NO clue what they plan to do with Kylo (this is something TLJ achieved cause ... i had an idea before now i’m just - what now???), but whatever it is i sincerely doubt it won’t go down the redemption path.

yeah, Anais, I noticed that too. They definitely do a good job with Clarke's and often times Bellamy's hero journeys like that. It's very structured and I like that a lot.

Yeah, I’ve been loving Bellamy’s arc in season 4. The way I see it is this:

in season 3, Bellamy went through an external journey, while Clarke went through an internal journey

in season 4, the roles are reversed and Bellamy’s going through an internal journey, and Clarke throughan external one. 

I understand your frustration, and I agree with bobsfluffyhair, she'll have to let it go eventually. It's symbolic of her moving on from L, I think. She just needs a little time to grieve and let go. That's my interpretation of it, anyway.

don't you worry, she will be called on her bs. but yeah, even to begin with it's not her choice to make, to give or keep the flame tbh... i think it will turn clarke into something kinda "ugly" on this episode, that's why i really think/hope it will last only for the first episode...

Yes, I know she doesn’t keep it for long. The initial trailer showing Kenza with the Flame spoiled that for us. It’s just so darn frustrating. I really understand that, and I’m not even really mad about like...Clarke? Because she’s a fictional character. It’s the characterization that’s tone deaf. Now...if they show someone having a conversation with her about this that would be helpful! But the fact that she tells Indra “No!” and Indra is just....accepting of that and moves on from that topic, is bothersome. 

Like...not only is Clarke withholding a cultural artifact, she (a white woman) literally tells an actual Person of Color that she will not return that artifact and she doesn’t even give a valid reason!!!

I mostly try to hide it but sometimes they get me on certain subjects and opinions and i end up blabbing too much. Even when I do so i only scratch the surface of what we discuss here and it’s enough for people to get so confused and act like I’m crazy

It’s a bit sad really.... it reminds me why i got so deep into the internet in the first place, there are things I love discussing and analyzing, REAL THINGS that we see and that are beautiful and so many ppl in real life don’t, and they see you as crazy (or, in a woman’s case, hysterical) rather than trying to understand something you like

YES i’m aware there are several elements wrong and exaggerated, but I found interesting things I didn’t know  - about the novels, about how some scenes were supposed to go and parallels I didn’t notice

I actually think that Leia is the one whose arc in the trilogy was leading to her being able to see Kylo (Ben) reconcile with her and his family. . . so, it's really sad that Carrie can't be here to finish out family saga.

i just saw it on a theory vid (i love those) - whiich was made even before TLJ- that it was Leia and Ben on the last movie that would have a moment/realization/arc cause, Anakin and his mom were important on episode I, which would finish up an arc
