‣  AARON ROSE | THEY/THEM | 27 | VALLEY OF THE ASHES | ROBERT SHEEHAN / DEV PATEL
“ i was created to create. “
you’d never guess from looking at them, but aaron technically belongs on the east egg. their mother comes from an old upper class family, but she had always been a black sheep and aaron’s father only encouraged her eccentric spirit. aaron, a spitting image of their mother, was always free to live their life however they wanted – which was a breath of fresh air from how most families on the eggs raised their children.
fairytales must end, however, and when aaron’s mother died in a car crash, it shattered the world of both aaron and their father, though both dealt with it in very different ways. while aaron’s father ran back to traditional family values, finding comfort in none other than eleanor waldorf, aaron found a transformative outlet in painting and sculpting.
under loud protest from their father, aaron moved to the valley (likely the only person ever to move there voluntarily) and allowed themselves to get lost in the art. they were good - that much was certain, but it takes more than talent to make it, and once the fantasy of living on your own had paid off, they were left with a reality so bleak that the only viable option seemed to reintegrate into the society they were so happy to have left behind.
