#aarmau hate

i don't think I've seen a more codependent and unhealthy relationship in my life. aaron mental stability contingent solely on whether aphmau's by his side or not? aphmau having little identity and self-worth outside her relationship with aaron? sooo normal...

not only that, but the thing that pisses me off the most about that garbage hetslop is the fact that they DRAG DOWN THE ENTIRE NARRATIVE AND EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER DOWN WITH THEM. which is just so infuriating.

aarmau not only negatively impacts aaron and aphmau's characters by not giving them much depth outside their relationship, but also every single other character by greedily stealing their screentime or, even worse, making them do nothing but serve as assets to aarmau.

like 70% of the writing issues in mystreet have to do with the oversaturation of aarmau.

which is why every single mystreet-adjacent roleplay that separates aphmau and aaron from one another curiously always have categorically better writing and is considered a diamond in the rough!

if aarmau has zero haters, i am dead.

so, what i’m asking is, if theres any moments in mystreet where zianna/garte were being weird,toxic, abusive, etc - pls do tell me. i have rewatched mystreet recently, but i don’t focus a lot on other characters other than my favorites tbh.

also, idk if i’ve ever mentioned this before and idk if it’s necessary to say but - i don’t like travlyn in s2 (just from how toxic it could be at times) or gene (im sorry im not sure why i dislike him, it might have smth to do with how predatory he is in pdh. i like him with the shadow knights and his interactions with zane.) i don’t like pdh aarmau and its incredibly difficult for me to like it in mystreet or fcu - i just can’t get past how they met at 14 + 18 and how they implied at how they would get together. BUTT.. me hating a character or ship does NOT stop me from still defending them on things.

also yes this post is just me asking for moments/scenes abt garte/zianna sucking as parents.

and the scene is actually very heartwarming because aaron and aphmau had so much potential to be REALLY good friends! they’re almost parallels of each other in a way and this is one of those many similarities they share! and i really would’ve adored aaron becoming a sort of mentor to aphmau because of this…

There’s also the fact that there are just too many characters that get shelved because there’s just so many of them…and the small attempts at making them relevant to the main story only for this small fact to be completely forgotten and irrelevant down the line makes me question why it even happened in the first place.

As much as I like that Jess brought back the lore of MCD with the divine warriors and Lady Irene, this created way too many plot holes and problems in the story on top of the issue with the giant cast of characters.

they're both codependent as fuck, and aaron literally can't function properly when he's not around her. not to mention that he has no friends of his own (that aren't just aphmau's friends)

Ignoring the obvious negative parts of the relationships, they’re whole dynamic, from my person understanding, was the whole, He’s hurt, She helps.

Which in itself would have been fine, but I never truely figured out why they liked eachother. Now I’m not going to say that I prefer other ships, because I’m trying to explain my reasoning without saying another ship is better. And all ships in the series, in my opinion, lack that value of why they like eachother.

They have moments and everything, but a lot of it to me felt out of the blue, especially when Aphmau seems to have crushes on Garroth &/or Laurence.

But anyways, I just feel since ships are a major part of the series, we should have had more build up between the characters rather than the “will they won’t they” aspect.

Also why would you do it in a forest??? Do you want a bug to crawl up there or smth
