Kind of a hot take but garmau and laurmau wouldn’t work in MCD. Im gonna get HAAAATE for saying this but aarmau was easily the best option. Garroth literally ripped aph away from her kids for 15 YEARS and she can never get that time back. He betrayed her and the entire village over something so stupid (like garroth you literally saw her go into the barn…and it ain’t that deep like you turned evil bc of a lil smooch? I rly think this was just poor writing that a kiss was the reason he betrayed everyone but that’s another issue).
Now laurance. He’s so UGH 😛😛 YUM my cutie but like he was losing his humanity. He got angry w aph bc she was grieving and he was generally pushy about choosing. That and his growing anger (bloodthirst maybe?) made him lose the possibility of an ending with aphmau
Now to aarmau. I know ppl said that he was added bc of Jason but I literally do not care bc as a character, Aaron was the best for aph. He didn’t push her into anything, he challenged her, respected her, took care of her, offered her guidance, and connected to her as a lord, which is what garroth and laurance cannot do (even though garroth was supposed to be lord, he never was. He even says he wasnt fit to rule, but protect). Even nonromantically, he was easily the best match. But even without Aaron, garroth and laurance were not good choices for aph in the end
