I love my father but it's kinda hard to want to live or even spend time with someone when they gently scold you for laughing wrong
I feel like not enough people are taught that you can do whatever you want when you cook
I hated cooking. Like, deeply. I did everything I could to avoid it. This resulted in a shitty diet, a lot of money spent on whatever and unnecessary stress. The reason I hated cooking? I didn't want to spend so much time learning the right way to cook. Learning the recipes, the correct cooking times - it was all just so much. It is so not fun to spend half your cooking time making sure that the recipe you follow is exactly the one your mother would approve of.
And then the epiphany struck. I dont have to do that. I can just do whatever. Make not some specific salad with the right measurements, but just chop and mix stuff I like the way I like. Make not the soup my father told every woman must know how to cook, but just... Boil stuff I like boiled together. You just have to understand a little bit what ingredient does what, and quite often simple logic is enough for that.
And suddenly cooking became fun. I don't want to go to the store to grab the single ingredient I lack? Now that doesn't mean I can't cook that dish, I'll just throw in whatever I seem to have that seems like an okay substitute for the dish. What's the worst that could happen? One meal will be weird and I laugh about it? Or maybe there will be unexpected new delicious taste and I feel like I've uncovered some treasure?
Sure, it doesn't work if you're a professional chef, because people come to you for specific stuff. And if you do want to make the specific dish, you better follow the recipe. But for me, who just want to figure out what she can have for dinner? Suddenly cooking is fun. And I'm kinda proud of myself, tbh.
It just occured to me that with this new format where the shows, especially animated ones, having mostly relatively few episodes divided by a couple seasons, it is very likely that people arent gonna really have... childhood shows. You know. Those shows that you waited to watch for every friday. The anime that you hurried to do your homework on thursday to not miss. For me for some thime that was Xena, or Naruto, or Sailor moon, or cardcaptor Sakura - and it's not like I watched them every time or from the beginning to end or like knew everything about them, but... I waited for them. For literal years it was like "b comes after a, 2x3=6, and there's Xena on Sunday." I havent rewatched her. I don't remember anything about the series. But I remember waiting for her. I remember exitedly telling by friend what happend when she missed an episode. I remember wondering, for a while weak. And the understanding that kids now may not have that... Makes me sad.
I discovered my biggest pet peeve
When people who owe you money don't pay back with exact amount, instead giving you a big ass sum in 3 bills and saying "well you can give me the change when you buy something and break it up"
Bitch it was you who owed the money, why do I suddenly have to go change and give back? I almost don't use cash anymore!!

not enemies not lovers but a secret third thing (they inform each others character and story so much that trying to define their relationship with a single rigid term will inevitably strip their dynamic of depth and nuance)
Came out to my parents (over text just after a video call, was too nervous to say stuff out loud)
Let me tell you, that was very anticlimactic
Mom was more concerned about grandkids than about having a girlfriend, not a boyfriend
And when I told her that we both are actually not against children when the time and the circumstances are right, her response was "Well, making a kid is not a tricky thing at all if the wish is there. I'm off to shower, kisses!"
I love her
Dad still hasn't read the message, but he kinda knew :D
