Per OC Shelter Partners "Yesterday I had an experience at the shelter that really upset me on so many levels. As you know I am a big supporter of our law enforcement officers so this was all the more disappointing. A k9 officer for a department in OC, DUMPED his bonded 10 year old labs because he got a new police k9. One of his labs can barely stand in his old age. I tried to talk the family out of it and he was so cold. Grandpa of the dogs, a retired Costa Mesa officer was more than happy to help dump these family members. I explained the heartbreak that awaited these two dogs if they went ahead with their dirty deed and they did it anyway. I was sick and heartbroken for these boys, and now I am angry. Dumping senior dogs is not ok. Shame on you officers." . .
