It’s another Fanadventure with content warnings that make me nervous to read the fanadventure itself! Oh boy. Yeah, I’ve heard about this one? According to it’s description, the author doesn’t like homestuck, and if I like homestuck (which I do) I will probably not like this. Which. I mean, props to like, just saying it outloud in your description and letting people know that upfront.

So so far, so…good? I guess? I mean, this feels like a story with a message attatched to it (the description says so, anyways) and so far it’s doing all the things required for a fanadventure to get popular: Sburb structure, cool animation, good visuals, there is a troll involved, and on top of that, the prose is similarly well done.

Oh there’s really good portmanteaus and stuff. For somebody who claims to hate Homestuck, they certainly have its cadence down reasonably well with the “combination of new words” thing. Like, “Horradorable” is a really good portmanteau.

Hmmm…I don’t remember if this theme has turned up yet (I’m sure it has, and it will only get more pronounced as we go from here), but I’m getting the sense that this fanadventure isn’t really on the side of Capitalism! Just, an inkling, of like, how it describes the oppressive system on the planet that we have found ourselves on. And honestly? That’s kind of based.

These quirks are kind of unreadable. Or atleast our protagonist’s quirk is kind of unreadable. I think I’m adapting, because Homestuck teaches you to adapt to the troll’s quirks pretty quickly and therefore gives you the useful tools and skills to be able to read most everybody’s quirks, but it’s hard to read the dialogue. Dialogue seems pretty snappy, though, which is always good.
