the musical storytelling in pokemon is probably some of the best in the industry. viridian forest is one of the best examples cause when you first go in RBY, you're a novice and it can be intimidating to be in an enclosed space filled with bugs your first time there. but when you return to kanto in GSC and go to the viridian bush maze, you hear echoes of that theme, but arranged casually. it's still that same place, but you've gone through at least 3 journeys (supposedly) before your return here, so it's not scary anymore. the scary part is over.
