A Lonely Path ~ Seagull
Hello again! Mine and Will's musical acheivements continue with this, a poem directly turned into a song.
It can be perceived as being about a Parisian stranger taking a liking to you, or faith, or finding yourself. I dunno.
Take a listen though. It's peppy.
A Lonely Path ~ 30/07/2012
I walked a lonely Paris path, And met a man who said āHello, If youāre lost Iāll point you back, And if youāre not, then let us go To where the Autumn sun is brilliant On the fountainās tranquil blue. I could show you something different To what the other tourists do.ā I replied; āYouāre very kind, But I donāt even know your name. Iāve got a reservation, Iām Worried Iām already late.ā But he was still there at my shoulder As we approached the avenue I like to think if Iād been older Iād have known just what to do. Once again his housewife-mouth Babbled Paris shone like gold, To my surprise, his hand reached out And brought us two to a halt. He said āI donāt mean to offend, But youāre being awfully rude I could turn out to be a friend But I canāt even talk to you. But if you are a friend of Jesus Then you are not a friend of mine āCause he will always come between us And Iāve heard heās too big to fight.ā Iām ashamed I walked away, But Iām so glad he crossed my path And yet I donāt know, to this day, Whether I should cry or laugh. I would say your faithās your business, But businesses are built to share; The office workers look like prisoners. I wish weād been taught not to care.
