A Budding Rivalry | Ashvee

It didn’t matter how old Vee was, she still felt the need to do whatever her mom asked her to do. Honestly though, most of the time, she didn’t mind, and was more than happy to do whatever Oxana Hauntley wanted.
But not this time.
As she wove through the bustling backstage at the Les Mis rehearsal, gritting her teeth and practically stomping, she thought her mother must be purposely trying to torment her. That afternoon, Oxana was doing a first fitting for the teen ensemble members’ costumes and asked Vee to fetch Ashley A. while she checked the fit of some random revolutionaries’ costume.Â
Now Vee was still a bit salty after her run in with Ashley at the prom. It was bad enough that the brat already made a habit of bullying her friends but then she had torn Vee’s prom dress in what she considered to be the teenage girl version of a hissy fit. Ugh. Embarrassing. The last thing she wanted to do was see the girl, let alone talk to her.
But. Talk to her she would. She had been the bigger person at the prom by walking away and she would be the bigger person now.
Spotting the haughty blonde picking at her nails just off stage left, she hurried over, clenching her fists by her side as she pasted on a painfully fake, bright smile and said, her tone overly cheerful, “Hey Ashley! My mom asked me to come find you. Its time for your costume fitting,” she gestured back towards the dressing room, “I’ll take you to her.”
