We need to talk.... // Call me drabble for tres-espada
Starrk was sitting up in his bed, his mind swarming with thoughts. What thoughts in specific he couldn't say, but there was a general theme to them, Harribel. Since joining forces with her after the Winter War, a bond had grown between the two, but it was something he couldn't explain. Of course he respected the Tercera, but there was something more. He needed to get it worked out, explained, something. With that plan in mind, he got up, and began to walk over to Harribel's room, although not in a rush. He walked comfortably, trying to figure out just what he was going to tell her.
In another section of Las Noches, the dark skinned Espada paced back and forth, arms crossed in front of her, looking down at the floor. Unknowingly, similar, if not the thoughts were swimming through her head. The Primera? No, thats ridiculous. There was no way he could be thinking the same thing. Of course a great sense of trust had bridged them together when they banded together, but this wasn't planned. This wasn't possible. She continued to try and suppress the thoughts. Locked in such concentration, she was unable to notice her former superior approaching.Β
Taking a cautious knock on the door before entering her room, Starrk made sure he was allowed to enter. Her heart jumping at the sudden sound, she finally noticed his presence, and became a bit worried. "Come in." She stated in a cold voice, trying to make it sound like nothing was the matter. Taking a step in, Starrk's grey hues locked with Harribel's eyes.
"...We need to talk."Β
Four simple words that were uttered from the lone wolf's lips, the Teresa knew the situation at hand, from the look in his eyes, she figured he actually was thinking the same, but she didn't hesitate to blanket her feelings behind a solid poker face. "About what, Primera?" She asked, just playing along with it. "...I don't know how to put this..." Starrk began. "But I've been feeling, strange." Raising an eyebrow at him, her arms remained crossed over her chest. "Strange how?" "...I'm not sure...Its like I've been...Feeling." "Feeling, Starrk. Isn't that a bit absurd. We're hollows." The Primera sighed. He expected this reaction from her, but was still compelled to bring it up. "Thats what I thought, but I can't be the only one..." "Only one?" "Feeling a bond between us." "Have you not been sleeping Primera, we're only allies." "...I guess..." Harribel approached Starrk, seeing his distress. Had they really become that close? The stone cold Primera coming to speak to her, knowingly showing a softer side. Maybe he was right.Β
No. It was ludicrous, they were hollows. Cold beings, incapable of love or such emotions. Placing a hand on his back, she escorted him deeper into the room, allowing him to sit in a cushioned seat as he continued to think this through.
Starrk continued to ponder, uncaring about what she saw of him. So in a way, he wasn't acting different. He was uncaring in a different respect, but that wasn't the point. He was being ridiculous, and a bit out of character. Shunsui would have joked at him should he have been a witness. Taking the seat she had offered him, he leaned back, relaxing his body, and hopefully in effect, his mind. But it would take time for anything of that sort to happen. He looked forward to see the shark pull a chair to sit opposite of him. Once she sat down, leaning forward with her forearms propped up on her knees, she locked eyes and spoke again. "Listen Starrk, we have trust and respect for each other, thats all there is to it." She explained to him, at the same time trying to convince herself. Rubbing his head, he figured she was right, the palm of his gloved hand stroked against his eyelid before lowering it upon his lap again. "...Yeah, you're right." He gave up, for now, figuring his over thinking of it was due to his recent lack of sleep. "Alright, now get some rest, you look more tired than usual." Harribel offered, she was beginning to believe her initial thoughts a bit more, but continued to shove them away.
Getting up, Starrk gave another sigh. "Yeah, just wake me if you need something...gently." He offered. "I'll be sure to do so." She answered, escorting the Primera out. Once he stepped out, she peered through the door for a bit longer, watching him walk off. "Good night, Starrk." Almost turning around, Starrk paused for a moment. Did she just use his name? She always used rank as a nickname, he was about to say one more thing, but by then the large door had been shut. The opportunity lost, he continued on his way, hoping to be able to get some rest now. Closing the door, she leaned her back against it, pressing her fingertips against he forehead, she sighed, being able to think aloud again.
"What have I gotten myself into."
