I absolutely love this scene from Brainâs Night Off, because itâs just Pinky and the Brain going out to dinner together at a fancy restaurant, dressed to the nines and sitting on the booster seats. While waiting for their meals, they avoide talking about taking over the world, and instead have this awkwardly cute exchange where Brain tries to make small talk with Pinky, and Pinky feeling bad that he doesnât understand what Brain is saying, and they both feel dejected that they canât find common ground.Â
Pinky and The Brain
(Iâll come back to this post to keep submitting pics of them that I like.)
Iâm gonna explain how I feel about Pinky and The Brain.
...Well, this is awkward. I never watched their segments.
But I was planning on watching three and two Warner shorts before the reboot. So maybe I can compare them and get into it.
I did see some songs and scenes. I liked them. I saw the ending to the Christmas one and Pinky you are a wonderful mouse.
And I saw a bit of Pinky, Elmyra, and The Brain. I like Elmyra, so it didnât bother me.
But for now...
Quotes I like:
âGee Brain, what are we gonna do tonight?â
âGuess.â
âThe same thing we do every night Pinky - try to take over the world!â
âAre you pondering what Iâm pondering?â
âI think so Brain, but if they called them sad meals kids wouldnât buy them.â
âIâd say puberty was inordinately kind to you.â
âHeavens, theyâre multiplying.â (I think)
âRemember something Pinky, never breed.â (I think)
âIâll try.â

Standard pic.
Aww...
It honestly doesnât surprise me that Brain would look so confident and sure of himself while dressed up as a baby in the Animaniacs promo video since one of his schemes in Pinky and the Brain involved becoming a child star so he could obtain the money needed to fund one of his plans for world domination.
And since Iâm on the subject, Whatever Happened to Baby Brain is such an enjoyable episode because it has a lot of fun with its premise, poking fun at 1930s Hollywood and the culture surrounding the film industry, and what makes the scheme work is that Brain is just totally fine with dressing up like a cute little girl. Thereâs never a moment where he feels awkward or uncomfortable in the situation. In fact, he treats the idea of achieving adorableness and cuteness as if it was a hard science and even enjoys aspects of it.Â
âGolden curls, perfectly calibrated to...well actually, I just sort of like them.â
And when the producer mentions to Brain that he needs a parent to sign the contract for the movie deal, Brain decides to tell him that Pinky is his mother, and as a result, Pinky fully commits to the role of Brainâs nurturing and overly concerned mother.
And there were several moments of Pinky crossdressing throughout the show (Pinky wearing a frilly apron and acting like a housewife in Of Mouse and Man, playing the role of Mrs. Feldman in My Feldmans, My Friends, disguising himself as Delilah in order to distract/seduce Samson in A Little Off The Top, portraying the queen in Hamletâs produced play in The Melancholy Brain, wearing a pink dress during Brainâs propaganda video in The Really Great Dictator, just to name a few) because that mouse is totally comfortable with who he is. And Brain, on the other hand, has absolutely no shame in having to present himself as anything other than an adult male if the situation calls for it because he will go the distance to achieve world domination.Â
Wakko Warner
(Iâll come back to this post to keep submitting pics of him that I like.)
Iâm gonna explain how I feel about Wakko Warner.
So back to Wakkoâs Wish, he was middle-ground. I was at the age where âeveryone is differentâ and âeveryone comes in all shapes and sizesâ was prevalent in putting in my head. So when I first heard his accent, I was like âOh.â But he wasnât bad. I liked him. (He was the main character so it wouldâve been bad if I didnât.) I paid attention to him and Dot a lot. I remember I was annoyed at so many characters appearing and so many songs. So I just followed the Warners since they were either the first I saw or they were the main characters.
I guess the term would be neutral. Paid attention when he was the focus, whereas Yakko I was annoyed. I did notice the trope it played into. One character is leader, one is weird/different, and one is relative to leader in some way (although cute is unique). So I was used to Wakko-type characters...Ed from Ed, Edd, n Eddy for example. They are different, but the trope theyâre based off of is the same.
As for fandom...he would be second favorite. Everyone looooved Potty Emergency. My guess would be for how unique that short is. People also like funny characters - visually.
And then there were some people who wrote him off whether it was because heâs the least intelligent or they favored Yakko/had crush on Yakko.
I connect more with Wakko and Dot. For this post, Iâll speak about Wakko. I like his mannerism. Heâs the nicest and polite. Doesnât speak much. Actions are louder than words. Iâm not a social person, so itâs nice to see a non-talkative character still a positive in the highlight.
Their voices arenât a factor if I like a character or not. I like all the voices.
Heâs also âweird.â I remember when being âweirdâ was a bad thing. Really bad. Thatâs another reason why I like him. Heâs tolerated, but heâs still loved.
Appearance...I guess his hat makes him less plain. (lol) He looks like Yakko except his head is rounder and had hair tufts. (But now Yakko has it.) Yakko looks like a bean lol. I thought they were bugs the first time I saw them.
I donât know but shirt with no pants looks worse than fully naked in toons lol. I guess cause it seems like itâs missing something. Silly boy.
(Although, his later portrayal in Family...eeehhhh)
I guess I can talk about favoritism. Yakko, Wakko, and Dot all love each other equally. But itâs a popular theory that Yakko and Dot love each other more. They may have more in common, but that doesnât equate love. Let me see if I can justify it...I remember they say he has middle kid syndrome (weird/non-intelligent), Yakko and Dot tend to make fun of him more because of it. (Yakko smacking Wakkoâs head; âIâm confused.â âWhat else is new?â Then Dot laughs.) Yakko and Dot fight with each other the most, though. Apparently there are multiple fics. But I can only think of a few instances in fics and there was one fic in particular that dealt with it.
The most fanfic/fanart is Yakko & Wakko & Dot or just Yakko & Dot. Thereâs some Yakko & Wakko but Wakko & Dot is rare.
So I can see it, but itâs not true.
For the reboot, Iâll have to see it.
Quotes I like:
âTurn in to what?â Various instances
âIâd like forty-two pizzas, six with no crust.â
âLook! Itâs a big fat Fanny!â
When I watch more episodes, Iâll add more this post.
Screenshot time. Feel free to add more.
Hehe.
I need to find the other one where his face is like this but heâs standing up and his right hand is pointing down.
Uhh...
Cutie~

Brainâs smug and smarmy expressions from This Old Mouse are absolutely priceless
One of my favorite pictures. And for merch.
