Day 2
Day 02 - A song that helps you clear your head
I could easily go out on a whim and tell you that every single Taylor Swift song clears my head and helps me through everything, but I'm not going to do that as much as I want to. One of the songs that has really helped me over the past year is "27" by Passenger. When one thinks of a song that clears his or her head, one may think of a slow, relaxed, acoustic song; however, this song is a reminder that i have a wonderful life and I have the ability to make it into something incredible. Over the Summer, I saw Mike Rosenberg (Passenger) live in Philly and he explained the meaning of this song. When I first listened to the song when the album came out, I was not too phased by it; but that was because I didn't understand it as a whole. Mike explained that he wrote this song as a reminder to himself that he has the ability to become successful in the music industry as long as he continues to try. He has tried for years on end to become successful and although there may be bumps in the road, he will continue to fight for what he wants. He told us that if we were a struggling musician, an artist, or someone who wants to work in the music industry (aka me), then to keep trying and to never quit if it's something you are really passionate for. This song not only inspires me, but it rids all of the depressing thoughts that overcome my mind at certain times.
