Is Furuta or Eto the most meta character in this manga. By that I mean aware of narrative techniques as well as tropes?
I think Furuta personally; they both seem to understand the world around them through a narrative lens and it’s how they articulate their objectives but Nimura seems to understand himself through that same lens (more than Eto imo), and I think he’s trapped by all of these potential roles and tropes in a way that Eto probably isn’t.
I honest-to-God wanna give you a proper response but the literary aspect isn’t something I’m particularly knowledgable about, and I’m just feeling super weird and don’t have the spoons right now, I’m really sorry - I’m 100% following you and binge reading your metas tomorrow though.
