Heyyyyy badabing badaboom I got another piece with Rowan, my 99 Nights Crossbow Cultist OC. Relatively simple piece because I got a very sudden quick idea, love those arts where it's got a bunch of people all looking the same and then highlighted is the one person being different from the rest of the crowd.

Anywayy, been having fun thinking of Rowan's relationship with the deer cult itself. Something I've been playing around with is that they're, at least for a long time, entirely brainwashed into following the Deer + Cultust King's orders. In this mindset they've carved out a spot as one of the higher ups of the group. However, after a while they start having doubts—why are they doing all this, following the deer and all? Hurting people? Some little morality in their head telling them this is wrong.

(This also goes by my theory that the missing kids end up growing up and brainwashed into cultists as well, so Rowan probably also has very faint memories of a less horror-filled life beyond the forest as well)

At some point they're forced to spend a prolonged amount of time away from other cult members, and during this time that little seed of the most insignificant doubt grows into more than just nagging thoughts to be squashed out.
