Prescient (pronounced PREH-shuhnt or PREE-shee-uhnt) refers to having foresight, knowledge of events before they occur, or keen anticipation of the future. Originating from Latin praescire ("to know beforehand"), it describes perceptive, prophetic, or visionary insights. Synonyms include farsighted, prophetic, and clairvoyant, while antonyms are shortsighted or blind.
