"2 Deep" is a song by the American hip hop duo Gang Starr, which was released on the album "Daily Operation" in 1992. The song was produced by DJ Premier and features verses from both members of Gang Starr, Guru and DJ Premier. The album "Daily Operation" was Gang Starr's third studio album, it was released on April 14th, 1992 by Chrysalis Records. The album was well received by critics and is considered a classic in hip hop. It features the hit single "Just to Get a Rep" and "2 Deep" is considered a fan favorite and one of the most memorable tracks of the album.
Gang Starr was an American hip hop duo formed in Boston, Massachusetts in 1985. The group was composed of MC Guru and DJ Premier. Gang Starr is considered one of the most influential and respected hip-hop groups of all time, and they are known for their jazz-influenced beats and socially conscious lyrics that reflect on the struggles of inner-city life and the importance of self-awareness and self-empowerment. The group released six studio albums throughout their career, before the passing of the MC, Guru in 2010.
