I think it's safe to say that Dilla and Neytiri would not exactly get along for a while, especially during the first years after Dilla and Caleb adopt Miles/Spider.
Dilla is already fiercely protective of children and the young. Messing with her own babies is throwing fuel on an already raging fire.
Kai was the first to throw himself to cover his brother πβ€οΈ
Note: this drawing is in no way meant to be hateful towards Neytiri. Just to portray how characters with different perspectives would naturally clash. I think Neytiri's trauma is completely understandable after what she has lost but not a justification to turn her hostility against an innocent kid or the allies who are on her side. A point which was even brought up in the 3rd film, even if as far as the narrative goes I think Neytiri's writing deserved to be developed with much better care.
