"Mother of me" book (7-2 update spoilers)
Okay. At first - it hits so fucking hard. I almost cried reading it. Oh my fucking god. Okay now to some of my thoughts(mostly from discord discussions)
It seems to me that showing the compassion and emotions through Gutterman (aka the FIRST war machine) is quite interesting. Maybe the first machines were more capable of emotions and more compassionate. Maybe they adopted these emotions from sincere dreams of victory, the salvation of their people from their creators who build them. Maybe they really felt a connection with half-living people behind their backs at the expense of whose victims they continued to live?
Another just interesting detail is that this is the first mention of a mother figure in the game. Before this, the entire game we only heard about the Father (God). The strict will of the Father, the Fear of the fatherโs anger, etc., inherent in angelic creatures. And here for the first time a mother figure appeared in the context of maternal sacrifice. And precisely from the machine. Not human or angelโฆ
