The day I upset my mother.
Nope she didnât see me smoke, she didnât catch me having sex, she saw me steal a doughnut. It was late one night (at half eleven, well past her bed time I think she might have been a little tired) my dad was giving me a lift home for Christmas and we stretching our legs and having a dinner b/c dad had been driving for best part of five/six hours. Thatâs where the services come into it, with all but the macdonalds closed and a cabinet of the days remaining Krispy Kream doughnuts. Long story short with the shop in which we would otherwise have paid for them being closed my mother was very uncomfortable with taking one,
Oh yeah, and I told them I am now on anti depressants.
I feel like a baby, in the parents car driving, and like babies in cars Iâm falling asleep, or at least trying my hardest not to.
In the back of the car there is no place other to go, I canât run away and make a cup of tea, I canât go into another housemates room and help them procrastinate, and I certainly canât do anything that involves internet. So Iâm sat here doing what Iâve been wanting to do for a couple of weeks now, write, itâs sad that my attention is so short that, I canât keep to anything like this when I have freedom. So I guess the next step is to place myself in situations where I, like now, can do little else other than work, so, cafes or pubs where I wonât use the wifi if there is any.
Next concern is finishing work; so on the off chance I do start working, Iâll try to keep working for a decent period of time, I tend to get distracted or I very quickly give up on anything more than childs play.
And of course, as soon as we are home I have wifi and I am off again. Itâs been three hours since we got home and Iâve only just started working again. Itâs mostly been just talking to people as well, so itâs a case of learning to say goodnight etc when I need to. Itâs pretty simple and I can do it.
tl;dr
a dark car is a good place to work, and lack of wifi is good for writing (research shouldnât be a thing while writing). So know I need to actively put myself in similar situations to get work done.
Dialog with family is good, just donât let her know about when you âstealâ doughnuts.
Banana my mum is a numpty, worrying about my present I donât really have anything not yet? Maybe I can still get something?
My goals this year are to accomplish all the things,
second year â four modules, script, two poems, two prose, a dozen critiques, half of peers  half books, reading log, reading, research proposal, research, essay, poster, and as many blogs that I can squeeze out my arse.
Twelve things in twelve months â Rubiks cube, meditate, an essay, a novel, a dance, win/learn a chess game a day, draw, paint, drive, skate, Portuguese, More/other>??
365 days of writing â to produce something everyday, aim to continue on after a year. Purpose of this is to make writing regularly a consistent habit, and to increase  volume of work I can achieve in a sitting and in a day. Speed is also something which would be nice to gain.
52 books â a book a week, this should be pretty straight forwards, I waste a lot of time
Spend less time unproductively browsing the internet. Less time on Facebook, less time reading interesting but i
Probably more things.
