i think they didnt fund it because of just how expensive practical/traditional effects are? I know people that are excited just to HAVE another hellboy movie but. I fear it’ll be a cg shit fest.
well I was following when Del Toro was trying to get it funded after Deadpool got such a big push to be made when the test footage leaked, and he just couldn’t get the support of the studio, I really don’t think the 2nd movie was as commercially successful as they wanted so they just can’t “justify” spending money on another movie that wouldn’t do well. I really think that if the 2nd one came out today it would be such a big hit and they’d have no trouble funding the last one
I don’t want a new Hellboy movie while leaving the last story unfinished, if anything a BPRD Netflix series or something, but not a reboot

I think worlds start to split apart when you come up with characters in a world that could have an interesting story apart from everything else. I get Kingdom Hearts vibes with all this STUFF you have going on in one universe. Its a lot of variety but it still fits together.
I’m definitely a huge fan of many different worlds existing in one universe that you can visit. Maybe it was inspired by Kingdom Hearts and Spyro XD. But I think you’re right, For example Maestro Peanut is kind of the character the toon world is hinging on because I’m starting to see lots of possibilities for him and Im not sure if putting him int he Hue system would limit that. Perhaps having a world he comes from would be a bit more freeing but he’d still be able to interact with other characters in places like Kaleidope!
Imagining stories in VG format has helped me so much lately. Just a thought, but I could easily see the merri/dreamon-verse as a very in depth "walking simulator". Theres no goal or main protagonist, you just walk around the world interacting with the environment and watching characters going about their daily lives.
I’d love that honestly. While it might seem boring I’m very much a person who just enjoys chill games. I could even see it as like an animal crossing or harvest moon style game. Just cute lil merri-way town maybe befriend some monsters, date some. >:O
