This move spoke to me! I know the movie faced some criticism, but if you aren’t a tall girl then you can’t fully grasp how challenging it can be. I’m 5’9.5 so I’m tall, but the main character in this move was 6’1. Either way all of this is our reality:

Always being in the back of pictures
.
Never having enough leg room/folding yourself into places
.
Always feeling “big” regardless of weight 
.
Yanking down “long” sleeves constantly 
.
The difficulty of finding pants that aren’t ankle-biters
.
And then the worst part of all for me, being taller than most men.

I wasn’t bullied per say for being tall, but the summer I had a growth spurt my legs were shredded by stretch marks behind my knees and thighs. I was made fun of for them. Then I put make up on the stretch makes and got teased for covering them up. 
.
Dating was tough too, thankfully my fiancé is taller than me and likes tall women so I never feared with him that I wasn’t like “dainty.”
.
Short girls can wear heels to walk in a tall girls shoes, but there is no way for a tall girl to be less tall, short of giving yourself scoliosis - which I like almost did contorting for months around a guy who I liked, but he was 2 inches shorter than me.
